What is your opinion of teachers or principals using a "York's" paddle for corporal punishment ? ?

The paddle is a long handled one for using with both hands. The head of it has holes drilled in it.

  1. There is nothing like a good session of inflicting intense pain and humiliation to enhance the learning environment.

    Unfortunately, what the student learns is that physical pain is the way to solve interpersonal problems.  You might as well ask what we think of husbands who physically abuse their wives and children.  More often than not, they are the same people.


  2. I dont believe it should be used at all on children..if they are truely bad..send them home....or make them go to class on the weekend as punishment. Often  people in power abuse these instruments of punishment and look for any excuse to use it  and usually have a favorite victim.Should be banned.

  4. It is illegal to strike, spank or use any physical punishment on a child in the U.S., by any other than parent or guardian. And there are laws that protect a child from punishment even by a parent or guardian,

    A teacher or principle does not, under any circumstances have the right to administer capital or corpral punishment on a child.
