People say it is the opposite if heaven because it is heaven spelled backwards. I disagree completely. I would never name a child this because of all the controversy, but i still think it is a gorgeous name, and i don't think it has anything to with satan. I think of God when i hear this name, and it reminds me of Heaven, not h**l. What do you think? (i don't have to worry about naming a baby for a very long time, but still :])

  1. It's an ok name. maybe a bit overused. when hearing the name, i would not think of Satan.

    hope i helped!

  2. I love this name. I don't think of Satan either. It's like wanting to name your child heaven without calling her heaven. The only issue I have with this name is that it's overused where I am!

  3. I think it is a lovely name!  My best friend just named her little girl Gracie Nevaeh! It's so beautiful.

  4. My daughters name is McKayla StephanieAnne Nevaeh

it means "she who is like god - crowned- magestically- in heaven"

nevaeh is a heavenly name and i love it!

  5. I think it's tacky and silly. If I see one more person type out "it's heaven spelled backwards," I think I'm going to scream.

  6. i freaking hate this name...i don't understand why so many people like it.  firstly, it's just plain ugly and secondly, it's become way too popular.

  7. made up, tacky, trashy, with no taste and no style

. It sounds like a stripper name It's heaven backwards. isn't h**l the opposite of heaven?

  8. I just don't like it at all!

  9. i hate it even though it means heaven i like Eden Better

  10. I agree, the name is gorgeous. But nowadays it is way overused

  11. It's cute, however it's getting to the point that it's so common.  This wouldn't be something I would name my child.

  12. It is a cute name

    but

Not one that I would use

    xx

  13. OMG this is so wierd i was just soo exited about naming my baby (along time from now) and i heard my friend say Nevaehand i loved it. it reminds me of heaven to and it is an amazing name. I was thinking of naming my child Paityn Nevaeh.

  14. It annoys me to no end, mostly because no one even pronounces it how it's spelled.

    Nevaeh, would be "Nev-ay-eh" or "Nev-ay" not..."Nevayuh"

The other reason it annoys me is because everyone took the idea from a celebrity, and people's obsessions with celebrities annoy me.

    Basically....the name is extra annoying.

  15. I don't even know how to pronounce it, and if that's really the story and meaning of the name... It's the silliest thing I have ever heard. Never mind the controversy.

  16. It is true that spelling an angelic word backwards is thought basically "turn it". Angelic becomes demonic. Just like the numbers 666 are not reversible and therefore cannot be "defused". I think this is a very trendy name and it's kinda funny how so many people use it and don't consider the full ramifications. You're naming your child h**l, good on that. Maybe just alter the name slightly if you love it.

Neve - an Irish name meaning "bright"

  17. It can be 2 or 3 syllables - up to you.  Did you know this?

    **************************************...

Nevaeh is a modern creation and is simply the word "heaven" spelt backwards. This first appeared in 2000 during an interview with a member of the American Christian rock band P.O.D. when he was explaining about his daughter's unusual name. Since then, Nevaeh has become quite popular in America, but the pronunciation is up for debate.

  18. I think if you want to name your kid "Heaven," you should just name her Heaven.  What's with the need to spell it backwards?

But aside from that, I think it's a horrible name--too trendy, too easy to misspell (as evidenced by the presence of the name "Neveah" on the SSA's top 100 baby names), and too low-rent sounding.  It sounds like a line of skin cream more than a baby's name.

  19. The reason many people attribute it to Satan is that possessed people are known to say prayers backwards.  Heaven is obviously a word that comes up in many prayers.  This is where the demonic reference comes from, although I know that is not most people's intention when they choose that name.  I have yet to meet someone who has graduated from college who chose that name for their daughter.  This name is such a trend, there are going to be tons of girls with this name.  Why not give your daughter an under-used name with a history behind it instead of a fad?  And if you like that it is Heaven backwards, just name her Heaven already, it is much less common and she will feel much more special.  Brooke Burke named her daughter Heaven Rain, now that is heavenly.
