Its pretty good, but i heard some owners say that it starts to have problems within several years. I once saw a couple year old jetta break down in the middle of the road and the driver had to restart the car at every traffic light (cuz the engine would stop running)

You should defnitely get any warranty that is available since German cars are more expensive to repair.

Overpriced but good for 2-3 years and start having problems.

Ahh.. VW's... fun to drive, but make sure to get a good extended warranty (know 3 people who have owned them, all had major repairs with them just out of warranty, especially bad with the mid-90's mainly with the engines and cooling systems).

Get the comfort of a long warranty, and go for it.

GREAT CAR my sister has one- she got into a wreck, thankfully EXTREMELY safe- great all round car...

From a proud VW owner its a great car.

The only thing i hate about it is the 80 dollar oil change (which comes with engine inspection, tire rotation and a car wash). Since VW's haev the engine protector thing, you can't do the oil yourself ( you couldn' t turn off the annoying light!).

other than that, its an extremely safe car, its stylish, comfortable, good on gas, and its quite luxurious. the SE model comes with leatherette seating, and a sunroof, which are both great on the jetta. What i love is that there are two air conditioning vents in the back for your passangers- my passengers love that! And the engine- Its so smooth, half the time i can't even tell if its on or not (not to mention its extremely fun to drive)

It fits four people comfortable, five if you really need to. The interior is really top notch quality, and its really actually ends up cheaper in price if you calculate all costs in ( The base jetta comes with more features than a base corolla/civic).

i have had no problems with any of my VW's, but i do know people who have. Just remember MAINTENANCE and you'll be fine.
