  1. i dont know what its about but i think the song is amazing and its nothing like the new music out.

    coldplay rocks.

  2. long live life

yeah i like the idea of it. it's cool and simple.

  3. I'm italian and i speak spanish, so i can tell you "All hail life" would be a better translation than "Long live life".

We say "Viva la vita" or "Evviva la vita" in italian, pretty much the same as spanish ;)

But frontman Chris Martin told Rolling Stone  that he christened this song and the album "Viva la Vida" - meaning "long live life" or more literally, "the life lives" - after he saw the phrase on a painting by Mexican artists Frida Kahlo. He explained: "She went through a lot of s--t, of course, and then she started a big painting in her house that said 'Viva la Vida.' I just loved the boldness of it."

The movie Frida, starring Salma Hayek, is about her life.

  4. Life the Life!

We all should, life's too short, anyway it's such an amazing song

  5. everyone who answered before me...is probably wrong, not being arrogant, but correct. the song refers to alot of biblical revolutions as does it refer to the French revolution...

"Seas would rise when i gave the word"-moses/ or god

"revolutionaries wait for my head on a silver plate"-French king who was dethroned and later beheaded by rebels.

pillars of sand, pillars of salt- abrahams(i think his) wife was turned into a pillar of salt.

also, i think it means that life was much much better for him when he "RULED THE WORLD" and now he is alone, or unhappy.

  6. It translates as "Live the Life" and the album is about King Louis of France and the French Revolution.

Look out for Strawberry Swing and Lovers in Japan.

  7. I think it's an awesome song... It sounds different then anything else out there right now...

  8. "Live the Life" it's about King Louis of France and the French Revolution.  Coldplay has the best music of any modern band.  Their music while it alternative and has the qualities of alternative music, is has the melody, craftsmanship, and compositions of some of the great classic rock from the 70's.
