  1. I'm glad it's there, but I don't want to live there :o)  I live right across the river in Kentucky (about 7 miles south of the city) and I do enjoy going to Cincinnati from time to time.  I love the Bengals . . . and I'm glad Henry is back although I know I'm in the minority.  Something needs to happen with the Reds . . . the stadium is awesome but the team sucks.  Cincinnati has a lot to offer for tourists -- but for the most part I decide to refrain from crossing the idiot ditch (a.k.a. Ohio River).

  2. I am originally from a Dayton suburb, and always wanted to live in Cincinnati, and Ive been living in the Cincinnati suburbs for a good number of years now.  I am from an old Cincinnati family, so Ive got a pretty good knowledge on the general area.

Crime can be bad in certain parts of town.  No doubt about it.  However those areas are limited in size, and are easy to stay out of for the most part.  Outside of those areas, crime isnt a huge problem.  I feel very safe with my family in most parts of town.  Crime is limited to crimes of opportunity in my area for the most part- the regular shoplifting, DUI's, and smash and grabs out of people's cars during the night, and even that is very limited.

Cincinnati is a great sports town.  We of course have the 2 major pro teams of the Reds (baseball) and the Bengals (football).  Both have great new stadiums.  We also have some good college teams, such as University of Cincinnati and Xavier in Basketball, and Miami University in Ice Hockey.  We also have a minor league hocket team, the Cincinnati Cyclones, and the Blue Jackets NHL team up in Columbus to cheer for.  There are many, many Ohio State fans in Cincinnati as well, particularly when it comes to football.  Cincinnati has many great highschool teams as well- if you wanted to rasie a potential football player, Ohio is a great place to do it, we take our football seriously in Ohio.

The people of Cincinnati are pretty good in my opinion.  Generally friendly.  Originally settled by German immigrants, their mark is still very visible around the city, including having the largest Oktoberfest outside of Germany.  It tends to be a mix of East Coast/Midwest/Southern attitudes, all of which converge in Ohio, which tends to be a good mix.

Cost of living in Cincinnati is excellent, and Cincinnati has decent job prospects, as opposed to a number of other Ohio Cities (Cleveland, Canton, Dayton).

Appearance- City is mostly clean, and has one of the most beautiful skyline views you are going to see in a city.  Highways can be crowded, but our rush hour is no worse than, is is much better than many other cities.  There are a lot of very cool suburbs, ranging from historic small towns like Lebanon, to new mini-cities like West Chester or Liberty Township.  There are a lot of really good school districts in the area as well, and plenty of recreations opportinuties, such as Kings Island, the Cincinnati Zoo (one of the 5 best in the US), the United States Airforce Museum (OK, you do have to make a short drive to Dayton to see that), to the Newport Aquarium.

Be sure to try Greaters Ice Cream, Cincinnati Chili, and the Montgomer Inn (ribs) if you come to town!
