The data is scary. Trees (oxygen makers) being diminished by the millions everyday and factory pollutants and more and more cars. Does it make sense we may be destroying ourselves and everything else?

  1. I think a lot of this is hype from the media.  I don't know where you live but here in florida it has been rather nice.  Not many hot days.  In fact we have had many cold spells.  I think if anything we are due for an ice age.  But regardless if I looked back on my life and the climate it really hasn't changed that much I remember summers being really hot and some being really cool. Yes I think we have a responsibility to make sure that each of us are doing our parts to clean up the earth but I think most of it is caused naturally by volcanic eruptions, the sun etc... Plant a tree and then sit under it instead of watching TV which is clearly designed to make us all crazy with worry.

  2. The scary part is not that we are doing it is that many of us actually think it isn't really happening! When will the nay sayers accept that we are dooming ourselves? When it's too late to fix it!

  3. Global warming is very real. I don't think there is anyone who can argue that point. What is debatable is the extent to which humans are contributing versus some natural phenomenon either on our planet or from the Sun.

Given that the Earth has always gone through cycles of warm and cold, I'm not sold on man being the main cause. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't do all we can to reduce emissions, stop deforestation, and other activities that are at least destroying the landscape.

  4. Global Warming is real!!! have you seen those pictures of like the mountains covered with ice twenty years ago and now all that water just...gone...is pretty scary. We have to do something about it. NOW.

  5. I believe that the Earth goes through cycles and we are speeding up that process through the amounts of toxins we put in the air, water and soil. I don't think we will see dramatic changes in our lifetime but it is responsible that we know what we are doing and change our habits to protect our home.

  6. yes trees help for oxygen but most of the oxygen we get are from underwater plants because the earth is mostly water and i think global warming could be happening but just try to keep up to  date on the "go green" things you can do

  7. there is just enough evidence that the temperature is falling, and about as much saying its staying level. Global warming is probably a joke. one last "HEY, LOOK AT ME" from al gore. sadly, many people still believe its true.

  8. i say iz really bad i hope the ozon layer survives over 100 years cz i wuldnt want to live for 50 years :(  my opinion is that polutting sucks.

  9. What data?  The ignorance is what's scary.

You've been conned by a bunch of charlatans and a very willing media.  As well as politicians who see the whole thing as a goldmine for taxing us to pieces.

Trees aren't being diminished.  What does that mean anyway?  In the US we have more trees than we did 200 years ago.  That may not be true of other countries, but what can we do about that?

And of course there are more cars these days.  It's called progress and all countries want to advance out of their poor state and enjoy freedom.  Are you against freedom?

You should read some science books and you won't fall for all this "sky is falling" garbage.  It's amazing how many are sucked in by this hoax.

They've even got people believing polar bears are declining in numbers and ice is decreasing on the poles, when just the opposite is true.  Education is sadly lacking these days.

Here are some links to help you learn the truth:

  10. It was reported yesterday on the news that the polar ice caps have increased in mass since 1979 and the British scientists who originally stated that global warming was an immediate  crisis have just recently...last week...stated that perhaps they were a little premature with their "warning".  So... it is true that we definitely need to take care of our planet, but global warming has been way over-hyped.  People need to do their own research..."trust but verify" is always a good motto.

  11. This subject automatically makes me remember that we are all being kept under anaesthetic.

  12. People don't use their brains anymore.  Its called critical thinking.  It is truly scary how many people are buying into the global warming scam.

But if you let people with an agenda do your thinking then you get an Adolph Hitler (an extremely intelligent man) and his n**i Germany and an entire society that bought into his very intelligent theories about the superiority of the Aryan race.

Al Gore and his like are the equivalent of today's Adolph Hitler.  Leading people who do not do their own thinking and investigation down the path to the point that they help these propagandists accomplish their goals.

  13. i think real. by us destroying ourselves. . . maybe

  14. It is scary. We don't even have four seasons anymore. I live in Ontario Canada, and I Swear, we go from winter to summer, and then from summer to winter. There is like a two week period of actual fall weather and a two week period of spring. We had like 80 degree weather in April......in April!!! When not even a month earlier we had a wicked snow storm. It is scary. If we all pull together, and make an effort to do small things in everyday life, we can really make a difference.

  15. Twenty-seven answers and not 1 link!  Did you ask for them?  Or information?  No, you asked for my opinion, but my opinion is based on my study of what's going on as communicated by climate scientists and those in the know.

I'd like to share a few of the links I've collected, if I may, in hopes that anyone who is looking for credible information but doesn't know where to begin can find it here and start doing his/her own review of the situation.

The data is scary.  Empowering yourself with knowledge is the first step in addressing this crisis.  Action is the 2nd.

  16. Real.... although it may not have really disasters so soon as they say but ... it is real... se it for yourself....

  17. Climate change is real of course. However, I want to see proof that the problem is man-made rather than uncontrollable fluctuations of nature that have occurred periodically since the beginning of time and as yet, I haven't seen it. The Al Gore film was so factually inaccurate it should have been named A Convenient Lie (told by politicians to produce fear and therefore increase taxes)

Global warming is but a component, in a group of destructive forces at work such as ;deforestation, desertification, soil and water contamination ,irresponsible or wasteful utilization of bio resources , air pollution,Non sustainable Agriculture, over pumping carbon aquifers

all concepts which are definitely not part of the Natural Processes of the Natural world

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

    WHICH WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR,

The most prolific growth on this planet is part of the day in the mist and most of the time under clouds ,and the least growth is always directly in the sun .

To exchange the one for the other means changing local climates

We are exchanging Nature with Tar , concrete and open spaced mono cultures.

In 300 years half of the planets forests have gone ,and in the last 50 years half of the wet lands ,and rain forests

These Areas absorb heat during the day and release heat at night ,

Cause cloud formation(shade).humidifying the air on the surface as well as releasing excess water at the roots that keep rivers flowing ,which in turn brings more water into the Environment .

As well as contributing to absorbing carbon emissions as do the leaves of the trees together with the oceans .

All in all many factors which directly affect the local Environment .

    and this directly affects humans

The loss of the above resulting in rivers drying up ,less rain ,desertification, loss of habitat for many species and so on.

dryer and hotter surface environments which can manifest in different weather patterns such as tornadoes or bush fires

somehow i believe that lots of these local environmental changes, can add up to affect global weather, If there are enough of them (and there are)

And then on top of that comes the story of the effects of pollutants released into Nature and especially the Air ,by MANhttp://earthissues.multiply.com/photos/a...

A cocktail of events and a lot of the ingredients have MAN written all over them

So it is safe to assume that we should look at ourselves , ,for possible improvements ,and rectifying Eco errors that are with in our powers.

23.000 people were killed at  Myanmar

    http://www.businessandmedia.org/articles...

other disasters have been Happening for a number of year related to climatic changes

recently In Chiapas ,and Tabasco in Mexico .more then a million people became homeless overnight with water coming up to their roofs ,because of rains from super evaporation from the forests, this had never happened before. Millions of animals died.

In India 3000 people died because of super storms .

.A few years ago in Europe 3500 people, died during a heat wave ,many of them in France .

Right now the average death toll annually is 150.000 due to Global warming

. these figures are already out of date and are expected to double soon.

In Northern China millions of people are running for their lives because regular dust storms so far have buried 900 villages under the sand and the whole of northern China is turning into a dessert.

The Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year all around the edges ,like a slow burning fire shriveling up their neighbors In the Kalahari huge rivers have dried up and thousand of species are gone due to their habitats disappearing .

The biggest changes are invisible at micro biotic levels species are becoming extinct ,others are multiplying ,

    Many more disasters will follow

  19. imagined. they've actually disproved it and where are all these global warming ppl when it's -10 degrees out and blizzarding?

  20. its a government conspiracy

  21. for all of you people that think that global warming is just a myth.... LISTEN UP.

when our ozone layer is completely destroyed(the ozone layer protects us from UV rays)all of those rays will come into our earth and people will die from heatwaves. Also, animals won't be used to this sudden change and they will get sick and those infected animals will go to insects and touch them. West nile will be everywhere, we will run out of produce to eat, and about 70% of our water that we need to live comes from the ice packs in antarctica, if they are melting and falling in the ocean, we won't be able to use it because then its salt water. So we need to put a stop to this catastophe. Wow maybe I should become a scientist when I grow up. Lol.

I am aware this paragraph isn't gramatically correct~

  22. I absolutly hate global warming!!!

poor polar bears & everything else!

  23. part of it is natural, but the numbers don't lie. the curve for CO2 and air pollution is way higher than in the previous pattern.

people are being complete idiots on both sides, to tell the truth. it would be immature to say that all the c**p we're dumping and all the unreplacable fuels we're burning isn't going to have any negative results. no duh. government conspiracy, gimme a break.

and to look outside when it's cold and say "so much for global warming" is even more stupid. global warming is a change in average temperature over hundreds of years, we can't judge it based on such recent calculations.

that said, people who are fanatics about it need to relax. like i said, it happens over many centuries, it's NOT an urgent threat. no need to panic. the day after tomorrow is a fictional movie, global warming is not going to trigger a biblical storm that wipes out the northern hemisphere.

but we really need to start cutting down on pollution and natural resource conspumption, for reasons other than global warming. and to do that we need to stop thinking we know better than the vast majority of scientists who have proven it time and time again.

  24. Most of the data support the idea.  As do the vast majority of climatologists and environmental scientists.  And no, it makes no sense to destroy our home, but to the greedy and short-sighted that doesn't matter.  All that matters to them is the almighty dollar...and that they aren't inconvenienced.

  25. Definitly real!!!!!! You can't deny melting ice caps, rising sea levels, hotter tempretures, etc.....

  26. Do we need to stop polluting our world - absolutely.

Is global warming happening - science say no - if you include all the data.  Look at the last 100 years of temperatures and include the last 2.  We are almost even.

  27. YES! YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT!

  28. If Man Bear Pig says it's real, then it's real.

  29. It is happening, but slower than most people think.  And scientist are not gods who can predict perfectly what will happen if it continues into the future.  I think we need gradual change to protect our enviorment, but if we act to quickly it can have drastic effects on our economy and industry.
