I think ANY drug in excess can be bad.

But I think SOME in careful moderation can be therapeutic.

Please share with me your wisdom and knowledge of the subject of LSD.

The reason I am curious is because I partook in LSD about a month ago, and it completely cured me of anxiety and bad reoccurring thoughts in my head. It had a lasting effect on me that left me more appreciative of life, clear headed, and happier than I have ever been in my life. I don't know if this would be the case for everyone. I am just curious. Thank you!

  1. I'm okay with drugs in moderation, too. But LSD is really just...it's not okay, even in moderation. Maybe 1-2 times, but barely even that. I've heard of people (including my father) who take LSD once and forever have horrible flashbacks and never quite feel the same. I know someone who took it 7 times, and now they're in a mental hospital--if you take it a bunch of times, you can literally go insane. Mental illnesses like schizophrenia can be latent, and taking LSD can bring them out (this happened to my friend.)

You were lucky, and you might continue to be. But you might not.

Oh, and therma (person posting before me) is being completely biased. Yes, LSD has been shown to work better than AA. However, AA hardly works...many studies have shown that they skew their statistics about success rates...so saying LSD treatment works better than AA isn't saying much. Furthermore, those studies were conducted in controlled experiments--very different.

And regarding schizophrenia and 'curing it'--there HAVE been studies showing it may help (http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,232... but it's different, and it also can trigger schizophrenia...so unless you're schizophrenic already, this argument doesn't apply.

  2. of what read on it lsd its a power effective drug that can cure people with addictions such as alcoholism and addiction to nicotine. like u said it can help you mental  to get over something. i think its one of the most over look alternative medicine out there because its considered a hard drug (which seem bull there no such thing as addiction with it)studies have show lsd help get over thing they couldn't alone.

  3. obviously the poster above me relies too much on her lack of common sense because anyone with a knowledge of drug history knows in the 50's and 60's before it was made illegal LSD showed very promising uses in treating psychological problems. Take alcoholism for example, AA has a success rate of 5-10%. Clinical studies in the 1950's on using LSD to treat alcoholism had a near 50% cure rate. Or psychosis, everyone is always like don't do acid it'll make you go crazy! despite the fact it showed very promising use in the treatment of mental disorders like schizophrenia. And right now as we speak the swiss are doing the 1st studies on LSD since the 1970's for the treatment of terminally ill patients..

Most people actually know nothing about LSD except lies spread by the government for the past 40 years and the stupidity of DARE.

And to the person below me, the AA thing was just 1 of numerous study points that can be made. And flashbacks really are not a big deal, it's something that last for 4 seconds. It's more of a problem when you stand up really quick after sitting down for a long time and your vision .blacks out for a second. The difference in LSD when it comes to triggering mental illness vs helping to medicate is that it's only believed to trigger it in people who are already pre-disposed to it, in another words people who are very likely to get it anyways, while on the flip side it could be being used to help these people.

  4. It really depends on what type, etc.  Clinical grade and all that.  It's true that it was used back in the 60's and 70's with moderate success.  I think alot of it has to do with your state of mind in all things.

If it worked for you, great.  But I also many people that it harmed.  All in personal preference.

  5. What I think is that it has nothing to do in a column about alternative health methods.

    Ask somewhere else.

  6. I'd say don't ever do it again. My friend who was a normal kid is now diagnosed as a schizophrenic. And it all started with shrooms. I know the two are different chemically but are very similiar. I'd say shrooms is the less heaviest of the two speaking in terms of great highs. My friend had a couple bad trips on different occassions but the last trip he had did it for him. He never got out of his mindset and it sucks because my friends and I should have said something after his first bad trip, for him not to do it again and then we let him do it again and now he's legally insane it sucks.

  7. I think:

Know what I mean? If you do then you have had too much LSD! If you feel fine though, you are probably fine, though I don't recommend doing it again because you can have a bad trip!
