"On June 12, 2008, the Swedish parliament, with a vote 245 to 37 (1 abstain, 66 absent), rejected a call for recognition of the events of 1914-1918 as genocide in the Ottoman Empire."

Can it be considered as a direct support to the Turkish position?

  1. I guess Swedes are one thousand times smarter than French, Argentinians, Greeks,Lebanese,Uruguyan, Swiss and all the other brainwashed parliaments who felt obliged to listen their tiny armenian communities.

I assume it's much easier to corrupt a Latino-american ( e.g. Argentinians, who - how amazing - care for something that happened  one century ago and 10 000 km far away), an Arab (e.g. Lebanese, who may feel some rage because of the Turkish-Israeli military alliance ), a Greek ( "Oh,yes,my brother, we both hate Turks, our former masters", a Swiss ( they love to take care of foreigners' money in their internationally famous banks, after all...)...

And when these people also have the same religion, they are even more disposed to agree with the " poor armenian victims who have been slaughtered by the terrible barbarian turks"

Oh, can someone give me a handkerchief, please ? I'm crying so much, bouaaaaaah !

  2. hi,

as for me,not enough but this is important and good situation for us...

The most important is that Swiss  must accept their wrong decisions ,maybe This will be realised at European Court of human Rights (after the judgement between Swiss government and Dr.Doğu Perinçek)

    http://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/specials/eur...

because every times, the first country is Swiss who accept some stupid and bi-sided decisions and the final match will be played between the super-power country that they support Swiss and other side Türkiye...

btw thank you very much for your sensivity ...

  3. I'm glad that there are some countries who refuse to be controlled by certain lobbies who harass people with their agressive propaganda and their money.

I have to admit I didn't expect Swedes to be that honest...

Edit : The Turkish " position" is just not a position, it's simply THE TRUTH.

  4. Of course not. It is a known fact

    that Turkish government for years

    has been bellowing the Armenian

Genocide recognition should be based on

    historical facts and not political

    ones.  With this argument, Turkey

    has disallowed all past political

recognition as "support" for the Armenians,

(claiming it is a matter for historians not

politicians), so than logically one can

    figure Turkey can not possibly

    consider any political position of

a country can also be argued as support

for their denial.  Funny how some

things seem to be working in your favor

when desperately trying to avoid them, than

out of the blue BOOM you just figured out

that it had always been working against you.

    A Turk speaks out:

"Arresting people who don't believe their propaganda? And in the cradle of free thought? Please! Who will see when, that you cannot arrest thought and knowledge?"

YES! Power to the people! Abolish

    article 301 now....

    How pathetic..

  5. No, I don't think it's a support of Turkey's position.

In no where, in US or Sweden, no one questioned that Armenian Genocide has happened.

Countries take their interests in account and decide on that.

Turkey has succeeded to politicize Armenian Genocide recognition, as a result of which other countries think they will lose their relations with Turkey if they openly recognize Armenian Genocide.

That bill in Swedish Parliament was completely non-political and non-condemning Turkey, it was signed by more than 60 experts of genocide and Holocaust.

  6. Political recognition or REFUSAL to recognise means nothing in real terms.  You see what most people miss on this issue is that the allegation is a serious and henious criminal allegation.  You don't convict any murderers in Parliament do you ?  Has any Parliament in the world convicted "Ivan the The Terrible" as a murderer or "Winston Chruchill" or "George Bush".  Clearly, there were some atorcities committed by US troops in Iraq but does that make the entire US Government and people genocidal ?  Would recognition in a Parliament by way of passing a futile and frivilous resolution really mean anything ?  Or in fact to refuse any such resolution ?  You see if there is a crime then only a Court can convict and sentence accordingly, and the prosecutors seek Justice for the Victim/s.  If these 22 odd (Mostly EU States) that have passed a resolution recognising the alleged genocide why doesn't any of them seek justice for the victims if they truly believe it was a genocide ?  that is take Turkey to an International Tribunal ala, Nuremberg, Rwanda, Former Yugosalavia etc etc.  ??  The truth of the matter is simple the British tried that with the Malta Tribunals and found that there was no evidence for crimes against humanity.  A civil war of "blood fued" is more appropriate then genocide.  Certain elements within the Armenian citizens of the Ottoman Empire wanted their own Nation and they revolted, their aim is clear irrefutable historical fact.  As a result of their actions local Turks in that area during the material time retaliated. (This is the very short version) now I have been told two wrongs don't make a right, which is true and I agree with that comment.  BUT two wrongs don't make a genocide either.  Read the Judgement from the Serbia case and Bosnia, it states clearly what is Genocide and the elements needed to establish genocide.  You don't blame an entire race or government for the actions of a few.  I would challenge any of those nations that have passed the recognition to take Turkey to court otherwise I would call them two faced, low lifes using politics to their own agendas and filling their own pockets.  They don't care about any real victim they just want the support, money and power.  Sweeden refusing doesn't mean it supports Turkey at all, Sweeden has clearly stated what it means i.e. the same as Britian not enough evidence to call it genocide.

  7. Truth has a way of coming out eventually. People should have wondered what's the need for such large scale propaganda if the genocide accusations were true. People should have been willing to listen to the other side before coming to hasty decisions. People shouldn't have supported one side just because they have the same religion.

I respect everybody's opinions as long as they are expressed decently and with data, not hearsay. The Armenian propaganda has long exceeded the limits of harassment. Arresting people who don't believe their propaganda? And in the cradle of free thought? Please! Who will see when, that you cannot arrest thought and knowledge?
