  1. Yes, it helps.  The muscles in the back are what keep the vertebrae in line and as you age, these muscles can become weakened.  The inversion table relieves some of the strain on these muscles.  To truly get good results, use the inversion table and improve your diet, especially with nutrients that target the muscles.  It's not enough to take supplements of nutrients; you need to concentrate also on the "cofactors" that help the body utilize those nutrients.

Another option if you have back pain is to see a sports medicine doctor that does prolotherapy.  It is very inexpensive and very effective.  Surgery should always be the absolute last option because most of the time it does not work well, anyway.

    good luck to you

  2. a dangerous device that has caused problems in the USA.  My best advice is to walk every day.  Wear shoes that are sturdy, have wide toe area, and are deeply ridged(not flat) on the sole.  Start walking on the sidewalk, move to grass, then up and down stairs, and finally as you begin to progress do a slow knee bend at the top of each stair case. You can also add weight by taking some old catalogues(or bottles of water) with you on your walks.  Switch from arm to arm as you walk along. But please watch as your are walking for obstacles and hold on the the railing as you walk up and down the stairs.  In a few months, your back and legs will feel great.  And, if you can remember to hold your shoulders back and head upright, since this will make it all happen for you faster while making you back stronger.
