Question:

What is your opinion on nose jobs?

I've been uncomfortable with my nose and very self-conscience about it for a long time, and I've been thinking about getting one. But I admit, the idea does seem kind of scary. Has anyone had one, and, if so, would you recommend it? What were the worst/best parts?

  1. I think nose jobs should only be done in extreme cases, such as a medical reason like a deviated septum, not to improve an already good looking person. I feel that when someone gets a nose job done, the result doesn't look natural, doesn't fit the face, and looks fake, no matter how well the job is done. The media portrays beautiful celebs who more than likely have had a nose job and I think that it is just wrong. I myself have a larger nose and I have thought about a nose job, but after weighing out the pros and cons, the cons weigh more. You won't look like yourself anymore, you might get more attention but by who? People that you probably won't want attention from. You shouldn't need to permanently change your face or body to please other people, a lot of people (good people) will like you for the way you are naturally. You don't need someone who wants you to look like a supermodel, looking like that is just not realistic.

  2. I am always scared of the results!!! I've thought about a nose job, too.

When I was 10, I got a door slammed in my face, and I broke my nose--it's a bit crooked now.

I personally am just going to live with my nose, because I don't think that it would come out the way I would like it.

  3. i havent had one im ok with my nose but if i did i would definately do it because there is nothing like helping ur self esteem. just make sure u go to a good doctor none of the running to TJ for a cheaper job lol

  4. theres nothing wrong with trying to improve your appearance. if it bothers you enough to think about surgery then i guess your up for the pain of the actual surgery, and the recovery time (4-6 weeks, but you feel better after the 2nd week). mostly its the recovery thats a pain, cuz ur under anesthesia for the operation. its more uncomfortable than painful after the surgery, feels like you have a reaaaly bad cold, stuffy nose and you aren't allowed to blow it, also you get bruising under the eyes depending how much of the bone they remove. the best part is the day after when they take out the bandages and you can breathe again, and every time after the dr cleans it, and finally when you remove all the stitches. its a simple surgery, everyone does it nowadays, just check with ur plastic surgeon to see what his opinion is for your particular situation.
