What is your opinion on the emergency service you get in your area?

police, fire, paramedic/911 operator? Do you like it, needs improvement, hate it?

I think it is reliable.

That's all one can expect.

Don't hate it but I'd better stay away from that. I encourage other people who are willing to though... if they're strong enough to cope with things...

I am really satisfied with the emergency services in my area.

We havent had to call on them often but have at least 2 times recently.

Last time was with my mom. She is an asthmatic and her condition got really bad and she couldnt breathe on her own.

I called 911 and the lady was so nice. She realized the severity of the problem and connected to the fire dept which was closer to our house.

She told them and they got here with oxygen in like minutes.

Just a minute later the paramedics came.

I was so happy that she thought that 1 minute was vital. It really helped and they were very nice.

The firefighters even laid out a mat at the door because it had snowed and they didnt want to make a mess.

I was really happy with that service.

Another time was with my autistic brother and he had a seizure.

The police were closer so they got here first, tried to make sure my brother didnt hurt himself etc. Paramedics got here in like a minute or so and took care of it.

They really cared after my mom too because she was distraught.

They offered medical and emotional support.

I think the services in my area are really good. Time wise, medically  and people skills wise.

Oh and one time I called 911 because I heard some girl in an alley outside my building screaming "help" and "murder". I went to my balconey and saw figures running in they alley.

It could have been drunk kids having fun by just making trouble etc. But I called anyway. Better safe than sorry.

The operator was very nice, took every detail, dispatched cops and continued talking to me etc.

I told him I was sorry if it turned out to be a false alarm and he said it was good I called and it was worth checking out.

Im very happy with my emergency services.

It is getting better and a quicker response time for all emergency services.  They are a great group of people, dispatchers are included.  They operate well under stress and are really hero's.
