  1. I thought that it was quite informative and that Gore does a good job of getting the message out to people.  However a lot of the movie is centered on Gores personal story which takes away from the impact of the film

  2. I think it was an amazing, eye opening film that's addressing a serious problem in our world.

However, I am angry that Al Gore got the nobel prize for it.  Many people were talking about global warming before he was, and making a greater effort to do something about it.  He only got the prize because he had the money to make a full length film about it that could catch America's attention.  I feel as though many environmental advocates deserved the award more.

  3. I absolutely loved it! I mean it was the thing that truely opened up my eyes to it, you know...taking care of the environment and such...I always cared, but didnt think much about it. The movie or should I say interveiw, showed glaciers falling like an incuatiouse land slide every 2 seconds. And the graphs rising astoundedly!

The movie I found very shocking. I always thought that I was the ONLY one who cared, then I found out more people did. How something that was here millions of years ago could cause so much damage when used by us, such as: Gas. Factories, and chainsaws...which take part in cutting down the trees.

The only part of the movie I didnt find socially and morrally depressing was the cartoon of the Simpsons or Futerama or whatever it is. When the dropped a huge icecube in the ocean, than showed it getting bigger, and bigger, though this cartoon was totally inacurate in thinking an icecube could do the job, It had some rights to it. And some points.

I mean I care about the environment alot, sure! I take care of it because it's important. But Al Gore put soooo much pressure on us. When you've lived off of something for sooo long then expected to change entirely, like THAT! than he cant blame some people for saying "He's full of S.H.I.T." I take care of it, but he cant blame people for wanting to stick to their simple lives.

Sure, of course these people should do the little things, like maybe reclycle, or pick up garbage, bike or help a local community group. That shouldn't be too hard. But hypithetically speaking, not everyones gonna cope with us envirmentalists, and our plan.

Sooo.... in all, people should stop, but the older people, who have lived their entire lives like that should stop some...but cant be expected to do the whole deal.

    Thanks,

Courtney D.  :) SaVe ThE tReEs!

  4. its been proven to be scientifically inaccurate and now they are strongly regretting giving al gore the nobel peace prize.

  5. I think people like to believe whatever is shoved down their throats by the liberal media and Hollywood.  Unfortunately, "An Inconvenient Truth"  is a prime example of that.  Besides, how much can we take at face value from a person with a mansion that expends energy 12 times the national average.  Bush, on the other hand has a much more eco-friendly home.

  6. It showed how serious the situation is.

  7. I think that it is the single greatest film of our life time. And the fact that idiot think that it isn't true because they think they are lies (Which is ridicules because they are scientific fact) just proves the title of the film to be great.

  8. well, it's a great, educational movie; and we can see that Al Gore really put a lot of effort into making it; it contains years worth of his hardwork and research, y'know? and I can appreciate that, even if I don't agree with some of his theories;

    but well, each to his own; but I felt that he could have spiced up the movie a bit more by adding interesting parts, rather than just making it seem like any old documentary;

  9. Quite a few responses for a film that came out in 2006.  Still a hot potato!

I'd been researching the topic seriously for months when I finally saw the film.  I thought it did an excellent job of engaging the audience and presenting information.  It and the book have definitely raised the consciousness of many, so even though there were a few factual errors, even though it wasn't perfect, I thought it was a powerful film.  It dealt with an alarming topic, but tried to offer a message of hope.  And I hope that Gore and Co. rattled our cages in time so that we can mitigate and adapt and leave future generations the best world possible for them to enjoy.

  10. 60 % of time  dude was talking about himself and only 40% of time he used to tell us we have aproblem. but I think even that 40 % is very interesting

  11. I think allot of it is true.Unfortunately most people do not believe it. They think this is the normal cycle of the world. By the time people realize they were wrong it will be too late. It is all described in the bible and we may be here for the return of Jesus. He will ask us what we have done to his Fathers world and we will only be able to say we trashed it.

  12. Ignorance is appalling.  It is so easy to regress into the dark ages, led by hysterics.

  13. It's a very convenient, money-making LIE.

  14. I thought it was good. Whether it was 100% true or not, I don't know, but I think it may have increased awareness of at least caused some people to think about the environment.

  15. it made me want to be a hardcore environmentalist (for a week). the only thing that i still do is unplug my phone charger when im not using it

  16. To tell you the truth, it would be inconvenient for me to answer this.

  17. Total Bull **** watch this it disproves everythiong that geek Al Gore and the liberal media says...http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=gr... I no it's long but watch it all and tell ur freinds lol....srsly it disproves everything

  18. I see Al's books in the dollar store which seems appropriate to me.   Al lives in a twenty room plus eight bath mansion in Nashville, Tennessee.  He has two other homes awaiting his arrival.  Fox mentioned it.  but not ABC, CBS, NBC, CNBC, or CNN .

  19. I thought is was a good eye opener, definitely made me think!

  20. An Inconvenient Truth is a very well put-together movie that is made in a way that makes it very convincing. However, in reality it has little "truth" to it at all! So much of the science in the movie has been found untrue, and they have little evidence to back up any of the points. Al Gore wanted a way to get political attention at a time when he needed it most.

Although the man that invented the internet is probably a pretty smart guy....ha.

  21. inconvenient. If you can't spell, you're an idiot so maybe you should read books rather than watching movies. Please don't make excuses, it's not hard to spell right.

  22. The only good point about it is that it has gotten people aware of it's selfishness and wastefulness when it comes to natural resources.

As far as science goes, there are so many inaccuracies and fallacies. An example of this is, in the movie (and the book) it says that the Antarctic ice cap is melting... that is only true in surface area. As it is losing surface area it is also gaining some thickness as well.

Also it can be hardly held as truth because he may name the scientists but he does not say who they are with. There is no citing of references AT ALL. Which as a scientist makes me all the more skeptical because I can't back track to find the real science in his science.

  23. its a great movie it really gets you thinking. it my be long but it is worth watching. I could watch over and over. It holds the truth

  24. First, it seemed like about one-third of the movie was about Al Gore, which put a lot of people off and didn't belong in the movie.

Most of the science was fairly accurate, but Gore should have made clear that increased CO2 levels are not just a cause, but also an effect of global warming.  If he'd done that then people on here might not be asking the same question over and over again: "How come if carbon dioxide causes global warming the Earth warmed BEFORE CO2 went up?"

Also, the connection between global warming is tenuous, that could have been made clear.

I think it was effective for speaking to people that were predisposed to believe him, and almost completely ineffective for convincing people that didn't like him to begin with.

  25. When I saw it, I didn't know it was BS.  It was like sitting in class with an ok professor giving a slide show.  Thumbs down as a documentary, thumbs up as a fantasy or propaganda piece.

  26. I believe everything Al Gore says.. he did invent the internet, remember????

  27. i think it was a great idea, no matter if it was true or not. he is trying to help our planet by any means, wether it be scaring people to be greener, if thats what has to be done

  28. i thin kit was pretty good and interesting but boring for me,

but, it was scary him showing you all the charts and when were gonna live and whats gonna happen to us and our world, its a scary thought but i thought all round he was really smart and told us what exactly is happening and what we need to do to fix it.

  29. I think its motivating and very very true.  I think everyone needs to watch it

  30. I liked it.  I'm not a fan of his, but I liked his point.  And don't get me wrong either.  I don't follow his guidelines.  I run the water while brushing my teeth, I turn the thermostat as high as I want it to be (or as low), and I f**t like crazy!  I could destroy this planet on my own with my farts if I really wanted to!  haha.

  31. Compleatly true. I didnt watch the whole thing, cuz it was a little slow, but it shows all the things that people are ignoring.
