Next week, it is planned that around 500 kangaroos in this area in the ACT of Australia will be culled. The alternative is for them to be relocated, however the government opposes this idea.

I've included a link to information and a petition against the cull, please read it and sign if you agree.

Thank you :)

  1. Seems there are two options to choose from.

    1. Relocate the kangaroo's at taxpayers expense, is there an estimated cost per animal for this ?

    2. Cull a specific number of animals to reduce their impact on the surrounding environment. I'm guessing this too would be at taxpayers expense and I am assuming that it more cost efficient.

We have similiar problems here in the American Southwest with wild horses and burros that are rounded up yearly, many are adopted out but many are also put down when no homes are found for them.

  2. I hear kangaroo meat is tasty. Nature does large scale culling all the time. Otherwise, the world would be overrun by any number of species. There is no shame in intelligent culls. Try thinking with your own head, not those of liberal do-gooders who can't see simple facts for what they are.

  3. Thats bulls*** they shouldn't be allowed to do that in my area near penrith they are ristricting about 1000 kangaroos to about only 10 km square

  4. Tragic.  There is actually a lot of kangaroo diversity.  Too bad people can't learn to live in harmony with nature.  The introductions of various exotic into Australia has really been a terror.  And now they are slaughtering Roos.  Tragic.
