Pride can helps a person to succeed, but can also destroy that person’s success. (TH)

  1. Your grammar and spelling are atrocious.

The statements are untrue. Two rude people can be each other's friends. You confuse pride with unhealthy ego and arrogance. Your usage of "terminology" is incorrect here. It could be  "denomination" (?) or "opinion" - I am not sure. Rephrase the sentence. It is a matter of opinion. I think greed is worse.

  2. Friends should be able to tell their TRUE friends the truth.

    RATING for #1 = 3

You might not like hearing it, but wouldn't you rather know that those pants do not go with that shirt?  Wouldn't you rather know that you have a big piece of spinach caught in your teeth?  Wouldn't you rather know that your spouse is cheating on you and that you're the laughingstock of the neighborhood?  Friends are there to kick you in the butt when your butt needs kicking.

    RATING FOR #2 = 9

As for pride - well, everything in moderation.  If you don't take pride in your work - you won't give exemplary work.  If you don't take pride in your appearance, you'll be a slovenly wreck.  On the other hand, excess pride can blind you to reality.  There's a big difference between pride and hubris.

(The reason why the Church named pride as a deadly sin is because it's a lot easier to CONTROL people if they have no pride in themselves.)

  3. Ahem!  I have friends I have acted rude to, and have been treated rudely by them, but none of us are truly "hurt" by that display of insensitivity.  We all accept that rudeness, and know that we all will apologize and explain the extraneous dynamics that caused us to be abrupt and rude. So I give your first statement a grade of 2.

Pride is also called a virtue.  It is important for a person to take pride in their efforts, but when one is driven by pride to succeed by any means, peers will be distrustful, lose respect for that person, and this prideful ambition will cause a loss of connections necessary for continued success, and failure is a realistic result.  I give this statement a grade of 9

How proud do you feel when you have done an exemplary job, and are praised by your peers and boss for your effort.  I feel proud when my efforts are rewarded with success.  However, I know when I am successful, and I just take pride in the result all by myself.  However, pride can reach a level that can be described as arrogance, and that is when ones sense of pride becomes delusional.  I give you third statement a grade of 5.

  4. I have to sorta agree with both. Altho, I much prefer the second. I know that I can't stand being close to a polite person. Kind of ironic considering I am one. But I have to agree, becuase you wouldn't have to worry about hurting their feelings if you were close enough to know what could and couldn't hurt their feelings, so you wouldn't have to be extra polite.

The second one is something that I actually thought about for a while (not the exact quote. Simply the meaning of pride), becuase our school is based on it's "dragon pride." I don't really like to think of it as "pride," but more as "confidence" that helps you succeed. Pride simply brings failure.

    Quote 1: 7 Pretty good

    Quote 2: 3 Consider revising.

    That is my opinion... ^.^

  5. 1.  I rate a 1.  It's not interesting and not necessarily true.

    2.  I disagree with number 2.  Pride can ONLY destroy, it never helps.  I rate it a 2.

    3.  I'm not particulary religious, so I also rate this a 2.

  6. I dont agree with thew first quote.

Polite is the one thing we should all be to one another. Otherwise were animals in the jungle with no discpline.

Pride is the the one thing that makes a man steal, and another not forgive one for stealing.

I agree completly withthe second quote.
