What is your opinion on underage marriage?

I am 15 and have been with my boyfriend for two years now and he asked me if I would marry him. so I was just wondering what others opinion of underage marriage was.

Kids these days are just not mature enough to handle marriage.  When things start to get a little tough, they don't know how to handle it.  Most of the time, they run back to Mommy and Daddy and want to call it quits.  Marriage requires work at times and society has made it too easy to just walk away.

Two people need to be mature enough to handle all kinds of things that will happen with a marriage and make mature decisions about it.

People and their personalities are still developing at your age. You both will still be becoming whoever you're going to be for the next 10 years or so. And people tend to either grow together or grow apart. It's a huge risk and frankly, the statistics are heavily against you.

Don't do it. You are to young. I got married when I was 15 and it lasted 1yr. Your better off just waiting till your older.

You didn't say how old he is, and my guess is he's over eighteen.

STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID~~you are 15 ONLY 15.  first, what do you really know about love?  lust maybe, puppy love yes.  real work daily for that love love?  you were just 13 when you started "dating" and want to get married?  STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID~~

by the way i'm not calling you stupid personally, i think anyone under the age of at least 20 has NO CLUE what real love is...

I'm 20 and I can honestly say I've changed more in the previous 5 years than I thought I ever would.

It's nice that you two are crazy about one another, but I would not jump on the marriage bandwagon just yet.

How about a promise ring, if anything?

So how old is this boyfriend of yours?   If you were to get married at your age, providing your parents were dumb enough to sign for you, in my state, you wouldn't even be old enough to get a job!   Here a person has to be 16 to just work at McDonald's.  And what kind of a future would you have flipping burgers your whole life, because that is all you would be qualified to do since you don't have an education.

Teenage marriages usually don't last.  And the way the kids are these days, they aren't using any birth control regularly, so you would end up with a couple of kids and on your own.  

Be smart and finish high school and then go on to college or a vocational school.  Prepare yourself for the real world.  You aren't old enough to know what real love is, no matter how much you think you do.  You will be changing a lot in the next few years, and maybe will wonder what you ever saw in this boy.  

Once you have an education and can support yourself, it's time to think about getting married.  Be smart and don't rush to try to be grown up.
