  1. yes, they are just offshoots of their larger counterparts. they usually have longer hours and some are even open on sundays.

  2. I love them. I personally bank with Citizens and they're in almost every Stop and Shop and Walmart in my area, it really rocks!

  3. They are branches of larger banks.  They are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation...meaning they have insured by the federal Government.

  4. I think so.

  5. They are ok. I have not heard any thig bad a bout one. The one by me is in Wal-Mart and they do very well. It is ran by young people, and that is a good thing.

  6. The banks I encountered in some stores or shall I say most major grocery store have banks that are a huge branch, just for our convenience they probably put small ones in the stores and it is indeed convenient.  I think it's a great idea!

  7. I've been using a grocery store bank for a couple of years with no problems.  In fact I get a higher interest rate than conventional banks.

If I'm not mistaken the grocery store bank has some sort of relationship with one of the banks because I get to use the conventional bank's ATM without charge.

Also, I'm in Canada, and our accounts are covered by government insurance (for amounts up to $50K, I think) for all registered banks, including the grocery store bank.

Basically, I'm really happy with my grocery store account.

  8. they are just in the way and close way before the rest of the store does...they're mostly there so employees can cash paychecks
