What is your opinoin on the incident of 8 teens arrested in the beating of a girl in Lakeland?

It's terrible.  They are all being charged as adults.  The most serious charge they face is kidnapping because they detained her when she tried to leave.   There is a lot of outrage in the area over the crime.

I wish every crime generated so much outrage.  Ours would be a safer and saner society if we made a point of locking up all the predators, irrespective of age, race, gender, or other situation.

The mother of one of the accused made an appearance on a national TV show.  When asked if her daughter had a lawyer she said no.  Apparently the mother was too busy getting herself on TV to concern herself with getting legal representation for her daughter.  Small wonder she is in trouble.

get to the big house.  The girl they beat will be scarred the rest of her life, and for what ?talking smack on myspace?

i think they should have gotten arrested. They beat that poor girl up for just an insult on a stupid website. there was no need for them to go THAT far.
