Its a cold place that's gotten better (lower crime rate). It is the most expensive city to live in and that still stands.  In general, people are friendly. The attractions are awesome. Different museums and enjoyable architecture. New buildings are being built including new skyscrapers like the Moscow International Business Center and the Russia Tower (which is destined to be the tallest building in Europe and 2nd largest in the world). So with all that, there's no doubt this city is getting better and better. Best city in the world.

I do not live in Moscow but I know some stuff.

It is the most expensive city in the world. After 1989, a lot of wealthy people started moving into the city which raised the cost of living. Many working class people are now forced to live on the outskirts of the city.

Also the crime rate has come down considerably since 2000. Moscow and the rest of Russia was in complete chaos between 1989-2000. Now there is more stability.
