I am only familiar with the missing Aviatrix taken captive, tortured and killed presumably by the Japanese.

She was a woman among women and a very good pilot for her day!

American aviator who was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean (1932) and from Hawaii to California (1935). While attempting to fly around the world, she crashed in the Pacific Ocean (1937) and was never found.

The first lightweight luggage designed for air travel was conceived by aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart.
