What is your overall thought on the races this year with the COT?

Yes, the best driver in NASCAR has had tons of success with the COT... (#18 CAR) but overall I think the COT has ruined NASCAR.

- Long green flag runs, sometimes over 100 laps. BORING!!

- More than half the field seems to be a lap or more down by the halfway point. NOT FUN!!

- Fewer cautions flags, drivers seem to control car better and avoid spinning out or wrecking. And this makes it harder to get the lucky dog. FANS LIVE FOR CRASHES AND CAUTION FLAGS!! Thats what keeps us on the edge of our sits during the races.

The only tracks that were exciting this year were the short tracks like Bristol and Martinsville. The bigger tracks that were once exciting and filled with drama now put me to sleep. Talladega wasn't even exciting to me although Kyle won. It's just not the same anymore. Most of the tracks are now like this so far that they have raced at.

And NASCAR wonders why the fan population is declining in attendace at races.

  1. So far I think the car has been much tougher than I thought it would be. The rear wing and the front splitter don't seem to be a problem. I really thought the splitter would get torn off more than it does so far this season. Nascar needs to loosen up some of the dumb suspension rules it has for the Cup cars. You can't do c**p to the suspension to make it work. Years ago with the long green flag runs, you could count on at least two caution flags caused by engine trouble. The engines for the most part are so reliable that doesn't happen any more. I want to see a race, not a caution flag parade. The thing is the cars are so fast, noone wants to stay side by side for long. The competition is so tight noone wants to take a chance and do something that might wreck the car, so they just kinda ride until the last 30 laps or so.

  2. Its still needs work at fast tracks and 1.5 milers. As it showed again last night, if your in the lead, you can just check out from the rest of the field.

  3. There is still some tweaking that needs to be done; but, for the most part, I like it.  I love to see long green flag runs.  I don't watch for the crashes, I watch for the racing.  I hate the races that have a lot of yellows.

  4. I will tell you after watching last nights Snooze feast i would not in any way shape or form Waste a dollar on going to the 600.  150  miles of boredom is one thing.  but 600?..

  5. Dega went off, way better than i'd expected !!

Nascar still has to give the crews, more area's to play with,as far as adjustments go

  6. Not perfect, but gets the job done.

  7. I think the COT hurt NASCAR as well. The sport was better with the old cars. Bring them back!

  8. It has been very boring so far.  Out of 10 or 11 races so far I have only thought 2 were exciting.   And the all star race.  Well I fell asleep on that one.     Not really impressed with the COT car yet.

  9. basicly in between its good sometimes and boring others...although i wouldnt say nascar is losing fans

  10. Please don't speak for all of us. Bristol was a snoozefest.  It was the best Dega in 4 years. Richmond was very good racing as well as Daytona and Phoenix.  Fan population is increasing. Attendance is only decreasing because of the economy and not by much. REAL race fans don't watch for crashes only kids do that.  Get some facts then come back.

  11. Daytona and Talladega were exciting in my opinion, but you're write with the first 2 points. No one likes to watch green flag runs and no one likes to watch a caution-less race like the one last night. And the lapped cars are really getting on my nerves and how many of them there are. At Texas, there were 10 cars on the lead lap. 10. Wow. Mike Helton is going to go broke if he keeps this up.
