What is your perception of people who are lawyers?

Like other people out there I believe that they serve a purpose. Some of them (as in other professions) are in it for the wrong reasons but a great many of them truly want to help people and do the right things. I have Friends who are lawyers and they are wonderful people. But others see their confidence as arrogance. If you went to a doctor would you not want them to be confident that they can help you? I believe that character is not defined by your personality but through you actions.

i think the are cool... but you get some lawyers that take their proffession to their heads

Lawyers belong in jail .  They have no friends in this world .

I used to see them strolling through the town square near the court house. I thought they looked important in their suits and had a sense of purpose. I hoped they were on their way to help someone or to see that justice was served on a criminal. In today's society, all the ambulance chasers and injury lawyers who advertise on tv have certainly popped my idealistic bubble.There is still an air of prestige about being a lawyer, but I wonder how noble any one of them is. The best one I've ever encountered was Atticus Finch in To Kill A Mockingbird; he was a hero.

some want the amount the profession earns..others crave for having that knowledge to know the rights of people and use it to protect their fellow..
