What is your positive and negative reaction regarding the autocratic and democratic supervision?

Autocratic vs democratic supervision may be viewed as a continuum rather than as "either/or". The less developed, less creative or less motivated/more resistant teacher will need more directed (autocratic) supervision while the more "professionalized"/self-actualized teacher will be more involved in her own improvement and professional development. A good supervisor should be able to diagnose the readiness level and respond well across the continuum. Much of autocratic vs democratic supervisory style is in the delivery (communication style) and in the rapport previously established and maintained (i.e., the level of trust and credibility of the supervisor).
