  23. I hope that this is a legit question that you are throwing out to help you in your studies of philosophy.

I've been living on this planet Earth for 82 years now, and I've just recently begun to ask myself that question.  Of course, when I was young and full of pi** and vinegar, I didn't think about my having to have a purpose for being here and enjoying all of the 'good life' I was fortunate to have.  Then as I grew older and began to realize that life  really wasn't going to be all 'fun and games', I decided that I had to set some goal to achieve to acquire a purpose for my life. I 'bumbled through' several steps of achievement, such as; Becoming a Christian (I was BORN into that), Getting an education -- eventually attaining a college BS degree, doing a short tour of duty in the AAC at the close of WW-II to 'represent my country in defiance of Dictatorship', getting  a job/getting married/ and starting a family -- all of which I considered to be doing what was expected of me. In that light, I guess I thought that was my purpose in life -- up through that phase. Well, after sixty-some-odd years of 'ramblin' along' in that phase, I've reached the time of retirement -- still with the same woman I married and had 5 children with -- living comfortably in a assisted living apartment complex on a 'just adaquate' retirement income (wife worked after children left home and built up a retirement benefit also). Just recently I've been asking the Good Lord: "Lord, why am I still here? What's my purpose now?"  And I DO believe that I've gotten the right answer!  I believe the Good Lord put it into my thinking that I and all of {His} children, still on this Earth after they think that there's nothing left to accomplish, are here to do their best in being an example for {Him} and {His} Love for us all. That, to me, is our REAL PURPOSE for living -- from the 'get-go'!

  24. Still trying to figure that out.
