My Grandmother is in a care home. My role isn't important as my mother and her sisters make the decisions. I can tell you we all wanted a place with cleanliness (probably most important first issue), then activities and stimulations for her mind, then the workers attention to the care of the residents. My family all works to keep involved with her home and to make sure there is no abuse or neglect. Although there are some worries, overall our concerns have been addressed and we feel confident she is in good hands. I think it's so important for total family involvement as management and staff can change and it's alwways important to be sure your loved one is cared for properly.
