  1. California--I don't live in LA or the OC, but I live in a suburb near San Francisco. SF is always cold and foggy, so right across the bridge, where I've lived my whole life, is a lot different. Usually it is the extreme of SF: if San Francisco is, say, 90 degrees one day (rarely) then where I live will be about 107 degrees. Or if SF is rainy, where I live is pouring. But I have to drive about 5 hours for snow. There are basically 2 seasons: hot and rainy.

  2. Indiana --- unpredictable weather. very flat. corn fields everywhere you look. tractors always on the road. lots of little lakes around the state. no hills at all.

  3. I am a fellow Vermonter who has moved on.  I have lived in Utah and currently in Colorado.  Utah was OK but religion is huge there.  Colorado is great.  As I understand it You have not seen a sunny day in awhile.  Colorado and Utah are full of sunny days.  Utah is mostly desert on the west side, east mountains.  No humidity and really good skiing.  Very few trees after mountain regions.  I currently live in northern Colorado and it is great.  Lots of trees and mountains.  Cost of living is high but lots of water and mountains.  If flat is what you want head east for an hour and flat is what you get.

  4. Illinois- Very similar to Indiana in the bottom half and a lot more populated on the top half of the state. Same kind of weather as states like Indiana and Iowa.
