Furthermore, do you think there should be extra taxes involved with sport, or other measures taken to reduce its environmental impact?

  1. Ha ha funny question. Gee, you must be seriously repressed and pc-mad if you start thinking that way. You'd do a better job just asking your neighbours and everyone in your street to stop using their cars.

And for those who hate NASCAR, why do you keep posting answers on this section? Can't you just let other people enjoy it without feeling the need to give your 'considered' opinion?

  2. do one of these questions have to be on at all times they should start a forum

lets see if were gonna stop nascar lets do some other things

football ended a/c cutting grass tailgaters lights moving teams uses to much energy

no more hockey same reasons expt grass

    no more soccer

    no More cars only bikes

    no more planes

    no more cutting your grass

    no more a/c and heating

    o $hit no more breathing

we should all just shoot our selves

seriously nascar brings in to much money it was once more watched than the super bowl you need to shut up you probably use unuf energy in one month to run a race

im tired of these Q's there pointless and all you want to do is p**s us off

edit ya your probly right and def right about the asker going first

(lets not go at all only her)

  3. Leave Us alone. Enough with all you global Whiners. All of these wild  fires do more damage than all humans combined. There is far to much government in our lives now. If you care so much than you stop driving and do not eat beans or anything that may give you gas because that is bad for our planet.  STOP GLOBAL WHINING!!!

  4. i would be willing to bet nascar causes less harm to the environment each year  than the politians in washington d c

  5. Not as much pollution as every day drivers going to and from work, extra taxes..you must be from another planet..we are tax poor already and believe it or not Nascar pays its dues when it comes to taxes..

If you want to talk pollution go to Beging, China where our American Citizens and Competitors are being choked to death and have to wear masks just to go outside, now that's POLLUTION!

  6. my moter home gets 7 mpg got a 97 cad deville i think i would give a coulpe a birds for more oil

  7. honestly, i've given your questions a great deal of consideration and come to the conclusion that i don't care. and by that i mean that i care not one whit about the pollution nascar causes nor its use of natural resources. i could go into a VERY long diatribe (ask anyone around here) but it's not worth the "energy" it would take and i like to "conserve" where possible (puns intended). the rest of your questions answer themselves if you give them an iota of thought from a nascar fan's point of view.

what i do care about is the pollution of the nascar section with questions such as this... do you really think asking a bunch of nascar fans (and a few non-fans) and them answering on yahoo answers is going to make any difference whatsoever?

  8. Your poor lost woman.  The root of the pollution problems stems with the government, not nascar.  For nascar is a twig on the tree of environmental pollution.

No, I think extra taxes would be ridiculous.  Do you know how much revenue nascar puts out?

We should charge you extra taxes on this forum for asking dumb questions.  Do yourself a favor; go to government/finance forum and ask the same question.  There is were you will find your answer or write your local congressman/woman.

    Regards

  9. If we have to start somewhere, how about you stop driving for a month? I can't drive any less. My minivan gets average mileage and I only use a half tank a week.

  10. I'll be honest here, no one gives a S**t.

  11. Far less than the airplanes/jets/commercial liners make each and every day...and did someone mention rockets to outer space?  And it's much more enjoyable than any of the above.

  12. There are tens of millions of cars on the roads 24 hours a day every day.  I don't think 43 cars on a track once a week is going to make much of a difference.

  13. I think nascar is a dumb sport, sure the crashes are priceless but whats so exiting about it?

    They're taking a left...

    they're taking another left

    and another left

I wonder whats going to happen next..

    yes it does pollute

  14. One little f**t from a big volcano would create more "greenhouse" gases that the entire United States could cause in several years.  It's pretty d**n arrogant for Humans to think we can "save" or "help" the earths atmosphere when Mother Nature, or God could Destroy this planet tomorrow in the form of a completely natural event.

Besides, scientists only have less than a hundred years worth of data to go on as far as the earth's temps are concerned.   That is such a small portion of the time this earth has been here that we don't have any idea what is natural and what is not.   We do know that earth has had Multiple ice ages, and come out of them, which proves natural cooling and warming cycles.   There is absolutely no conclusive proof that the earth's atmosphere is doing anything that is not completely normal, or that man has had any effect at all on our environment.  So go find something else to do with you life, like raising your kids, doing your homework, or peeing in the wind.   2 of the 3 are much better uses of your time than trying to fix something that really isn't broke.

edit:   Sorry to inform you Kaseyfan, but if we all shot ourselves, the greenhouse gases from all those bullets would pollute the planet.   We need to hang ourselves, or stab ourselves.   But I personally think the asker should lead by example and go first on that one.

  15. Lets start with all the environmentalist protesters, riding all over the country, wasting gas and, polluting state to state because they feel incomplete, without a cause to support.

those who live in glass bio domes, should not throw stones.

  16. Sweetie, there are 143,781,202 vehicles registered in the United States. If each of them got 30 mpg(which alot of them don't)

they'd accumulate 531,199,044,740 gallons of fuel annually.

An entire nascar season uses 216.000 gallons of fuel.

That's 4.06% of US fuel consumption. A mere "blip" on the radar.

  17. who cares

  18. All the drivers in my city drive a combined 72,000,000 miles PER DAY and your worried about a 500 mile race on a Sunday!?

  19. it may be wasting natural resources, but just think about the economic benefit from the races!  I don't care if you hate nascar, but that has nothing to do with this question.  43 cars ain't doing that much damage.  4 billion people driving cars everyday will.  nascar is also a great way for companies to advertise too.  nascar does hurt the environment and burn natural resources, but i wouldn't say that it wastes them.  the economy benefits from it.

  20. WAA WAA WAA WAA TAKE YOUR CRYBABY ATTITUDE AND SHOVE IT. TELL THE PRESIDENT TO GROUND HIS PLANES OR BOATS OR TANKS IF YOU WANT TO DO SOMETHING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT. NASCAR RACES ARE NOT THE CAUSE OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS THE GOVERNMENT IS SO PICK A FIGHT WITH THEM AND LEAVE NASCAR ALONE. OUR GOVERNMENT BURNS MORE FUEL IN ONE MINUTE THAN NASCAR DOES ALL YEAR

  21. Who cares...Have you seen the pollution in china?WE are way ahead of many countries on this one...Instead of looking at nascar racing maybe the airline business should be looked at!!!!!!Extra taxes?Have you ever been to a race and totalled up the cost? It,s getting so expensive that I cannot afford to go to a race!!!

  22. You want to start somewhere. Start in your own garage. How many unnecessary trips do you make each week? How many times does one take their kids to soccer, football, ballet, dance, gymnastics, cheerleading, piano, etc lessons? How much gas is wasted taking kids back & forth to those types of events?

How much fuel is wasted on unecessary flying? Fans and every day people have to get to & from various vacation destinations, sporting events, meetings, concerts, etc. How much polution could we cut back if everyone stopped flying to meetings & had teleconferencing instead, how much of the environment would be saved then?

Of what of these football, basketball, baseball, soccer, volleyball, golf, etc events, or the concerts, art shows, galas, benifets, etc that people attend? It also takes fuel to get to & from these thing to. So, why not start there? What about our own government? A 300+ page proposal to tell you that you need clean water, multiply that by say 200 copies & how many trees does that equal? You many not know this, but trees help provide you with the oxgyan that you & I & everyone else needs to live. The more the Government wastes the less oxgyan there is. Last time I check no trees were harmed in a NASCAR weekend race.

And what of the food you eat & the cloths you wear? Do you not think that farmers all across America use fuel in their combines, plows, pickers, bailers, etc to help grow those things? Because I guarentee you that they are not out there in 120* weather picking it by hand, nor are they plowing 1000+ acre farms by mule & plow.

And you wanna talk taxes? Are you sure you really want to go there? Because what of these richer people out here making 500k+ a year, what tax breakes do they get? Oh, they get to take up to 20 martinis a month off their takes. People with an annual income below 102k pay alittle over 12% a check for soccial security. What do those who make more pay? Not 12% a check & yet they will use social security just the same as I will making 20k a year. So, do you still wanna talk taxes? Didn't think so.
