  1. Greenhouse gasses, the earth naturaly traps heat inside using CO2 but the process has been sped up and multiplied to do to much CO2 in the air, so it's trapping more heat than it needs to.

  2. Bob said, "Mostly man made greenhouse gases.

That's not my theory, The data proves it. Which is why it's the position of most all scientists, including:"

You still don't get how science works, do you? The data does not prove it, the data just leads to more speculation. You can't even tell me that all of the CO2 increase is caused by human activities, because the isotopic dosage cannot explain it. Until you read up on the scientific method, I suggest you don't try to answer any more questions relating to global warming.

And bubba, it has nothing to do with "carbon half-life," rather it is carbon residence time.

  3. Hot air being spewed by liberal politicians and Hollywood celebrities.

  4. It is not all natural cycles of the earth, increasing solar output, cosmic rays, Martians, or a conspiracy of all the scientist on Earth to steal money.   People who say this are whack-jobs.

It is caused by an increase in greenhouse gases resulting mostly from human activity.

Carbon dioxide makes up less than 1% of the atmosphere, but has a very long half life.  CO2, along with CH4, N2O, and H20 (main greenhouse gases but many others) "capture" longwave radiation emitted by the Earth and warms the atmosphere. The half life of CO2 in the atmosphere  is a few hundred years (~400 I think).  The equilibrium between atmospheric CO2 and that used for photosynthesis  (terrestrial and aquatic photosynthesis) is out of whack because we are pulling CO2 sequestered out of the carbon cycle back into the system mainly in the from of fossil fuels, but concrete production, land cover change for example also contribute.

Increasing the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere (and other greenhouse gases) increases the amount of heat the atmosphere can hold that has been re-radiated from the Earth.   It has the potential to cause the disruption of a lot of ecosystems through changing climate and ocean currents (the systems that redistribute heat from the equator to the poles).   Disrupting these ecosystems has a direct effect on human well-being (ability to grow food, availability of adequate water, spread of diseases like Malaria for example), not to mention the effects on non-human species.

Humans are the most adaptable species on the planet, not the least.  Other species are more sensitive to ecosystem changes, and can be the "canaries in the coal mine."  Radical ecosystem changes could result in a reduced carrying capacity for the human species.  That is why all the fuss between Global warming, climate change, and species extinction.  The theory of global warming is very sound and accepted by the scientific community.  You can't find a major scientific organization that want to through it out.  It has many parts and is always being refined, but the effort is on better understanding the parts that have the most uncertainty associated with them (ocean, atmospheric aerosols, role of clouds for example).

What the potential results could be are much less certain than the fact that human beings are contributing to an increased rate of climate change. The rate of change has increase from the natural rate of change due to natural variation.  This is undisputed now.

  5. The theory is out there and its simple were burning to much fossil fuels PERIOD.

We have little time to switch it off.

  6. The gas from our cars is heating the ozone layer letting the sun shine hit us more directly making the planet warmer

  7. Mostly man made greenhouse gases.

That's not my theory, The data proves it.  Which is why it's the position of most all scientists, including:

The National Academy of Sciences, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Institute of Physics, the American Chemical Society, the American Geophysical Union, the American Meteorological Association, etc.

There is legitimate scientific controversy over things like hurricanes.  But not about the basic cause.

  8. too much carbon dioxide

  9. It's a natural occurance. No explanation needed.

  10. cycles of the earth.

  11. My hypothesis is, I think we are causing some part of it, there is no arguing away the amount of carbon dioxide and other gases we spew into the air.  But I do not think that all observations we attribute to global warming (like hurricanes) are part of it, more likely due to a natural cycle.

  12. I believe students at N.C. State did a study showing a direct correlation between global warming and the number of pirates in the world. As the number of pirates decreased, the earth's mean surface temperature increased. I think this study is as viable as the man made CO2 emissions theory. What do you think?

  13. it is a bunch of disiluusions of al gore just like claiming he invented the internet by himself

  14. Natural cycle. Fact.

  15. I'm not sure we know, but I'm sure glad it's happening.  Things are dreadful during periods of global cooling.  Advancing glaciers aren't really a good thing.

  16. Transportation, power plants, volcano's,factories, people eating at white castle, and NASA for punching a whole in the ozone everytime they go to space!!!
