  1. that is one sorry s****.too much too soon don't you think I wish he could but it's hard to kick the soda habit, and 2 packs of cigs a day whew, that 's a lot

  2. As much of a JD fan I am, I'm not sure where he's headed. I go to the Buick Open every year (where he is well-respected), and I'd like to see him there again. It's just really too bad that he's gone through what he has.

  3. he has so many Demons. he drinks too much and is not in very good shape, look who wins on the pga tour now Besides tiger woods, they are stronger and in very good shape. golf has become a game that if you want to compete in you need to get into great shape, and he is in terrible shape, he is fun to watch when he is playing well but it is sad to see him slipping away. he will start to lose sponsers and then crash again. he will never win on the pga tour again.

  4. I think Daly's best days are behind him. I love the character and the guy is super talented but unfortunately, his pension for vices and inability to mature into a "course manager" has cost him. As his raw "skill" diminishes, he'll fade from the public eye.

  5. I saw him one year at the Scottsdale Open in Arizona, and he was looking a whole lot fitter than he does today.  I'm really worried about him.  He's getting older, and with his smoking, weight, and drinking, I think he's a good candidate for a stroke.

I think that he has a good couple of rounds left in him....enough to keep him living a very comfortable life.  I predict that he'll tease his fans by being up and around the leaderboard for a couple of rounds in some big tournaments before fading away in the last two rounds.

  6. He'll be back at least one more time, but he will probably always have an up and down career.  Right now he needs to make some cuts and finish some tournaments, he's been WD a lot.

  7. The days when you could play golf during the day, party all night, and still win on the PGA Tour are long gone.  Todays golfers are just as much athletes as are football, baseball, or basketball players.  Todays golfers must stay fit in order to compete.  Unfortunately for John Daly, he has not figured that out.  I have truly enjoyed watching him play in the past, but these days he is a pale image of the player he used to be.  And until he gets his bad habits and vices under control, I don't think he will ever be really competitive again.

  8. he will be comeback player of the year. also will regain his playing privlages possibly with a win , more than likely money order finish . player exemptions through sponsers, will be enough in winnings, to return . late seaon victory possible . he is not the person the media have made him out to be ,when he returns , media on his back again . hopefully what may golfs greatest season by tiger . may take media pressure off . or lowered .good luck john

  9. Why do people still care about him?  Everyone knows that Boo Weekley is now the hillbilly du jour.

  10. There is no one I root for harder than John. The unlimate Cindarella story has placed him in all of golfing America's hearts.

He has lived through some stuff though. He has massive "LIFE" hurdles to overcome before he can take on his carreer hurdles. We as people often think that achieving success in some aspect of our lives leads to and overflows into our personal happiness. We sometimes believe that it also wrights a ship that has come off course, but time and time again it has been proven that it doesn't.

A Tiger Woods level person has mental toughness all throughout their lives. A level of expectation through practicing and executing behaviors that have become skills over time is how one achieves the highest level of personal, professional and if your lucky spiritual well being.

John doesn't have these. We, humans in general, do not have these. "Get your ducks in a row" is a good cliche for John. It is just very difficult because we all call upon our own past experiences which have attributed to our current habits which keep us from breaking through and really achieve change and when you have to stop drinking, stop smoking, and stop eating you all of a sudden have more "Stops" than you can handle and not even prayer can help.... But John I will pray for you and I will ROOT for you and I will continue to watch you.

John, work on feeling good about yourself before you reach the tee. The Golf you can work on later.

  11. I hope the poor devil finds out. He is killing himself. It could be and likely is alcoholism.

  12. I think he will be back, but when is totally up to him.   He's young enough that if he ever "sees the light", he can still be a factor.

  13. I had read that he was changing his ways and going to work harder this year.  I think Daly adds a lot to the game - not only his driving distance and all the other skills he has but as a flawed personality, just like us.  If he can straighten out his demons, I would like to see him back again. And when he is on his game, he is as good as anyone (except for The Great One who plays a different game....)

  14. He definitely will be back and will win in 2008. He`s matured another year and is hungry.
