Question:

What is your true ghost story?

One of my favorites happened just two or three years ago:

I was alone at home watching a movie in the dark.

I saw something shiny in the carpet. It was a staple.

The reflection from the tv made me notice it. As I bent over

to pick it up, as soon as I touched the staple, I had to urinate.

I went to the restroom, and put the staple on the sink next to the toilet. As I was . . . standing there, I heard a 'click' sound.

I looked over, and saw the staple was in the sink.

If the staple had slid into the sink bowl, I wouldn't have heard it, but because it made a 'click' sound, I can only imagine it was in the air at least several inches.

Please tell me a true ghost story that happened to you : )

  1. My husband worked as a painter for a couple of years and said they did a house once next to the cemetry.  It was summer so quite a warm day but it didnt matter cause one room of that house was stone cold.  When it came time to paint it the two guys left the room to have lunch and when they returned there were autumn leaves in the room.  Keep in mind...it was the middle of summer oh and there were no trees around.  They were freaked.

  2. I will tell one of many...when I lived in New Orleans in the French Quarter every night about 2am the sound of the front door opening would be heard, although the door was locked and locked and dead-bolted too...then the sound of footsteps would be heard coming up the stairs and finally the bedroom doorknob would rattle, like someone trying to open it...I got used to it after a while and just turned over and went back to sleep...must have been a spirit going through the same routine they had while they were living...the house was built in the early 1800s...

  3. What an odd story...well, the one that stands out in my mind the most, is this woman. She was sitting in her living room, and the phone rang. As she picked up the phone, a truck crashed through her living room window, and landed just inches from where she was sitting. The weird thing: "There was NOBODY on the phone."

    "Guardian Angel?...Maybe.

  4. When I was little (approx. 5-7) I used to sleep in the dark and it never bothered me. Well one day I kept feeling like I was being watched so I went to my mom and told her that there was a monster/demon standing by my window. Well she didn't really do anything about it, I guess she figured it was the whole "the monster under the bed" ordeal. I told my mom I couldn't sleep in my room anymore because I was too scared, I could see this creature standing right next to my window watching me. I kept telling her he was there. so the next night my mom walked into my room with an empty jar and said a protection prayer. She asked nicely if the "thing" would leave and closed the lid. We buried it in our yard. After that I never had a problem again with my window. To this day I still don't know what it was. I think as a child I could see things, or so my mom says. Unfortunately, or fortunately, I can't see anything anymore.

  5. When I was a kid I swore our house was haunted.  I would always hear people falling down the stairs. One of these times I looked down in the basement and I saw a cloud floating, I know it was a ghost.

  6. I was working at an estate agents one night i was a student cleaning trying to earn extra cash.I was the only one there.I was out the back and it was winter and dark outside. All of the lights were on..everything was lit up.Where i was there was a series of 5 landings. As i looked up i could see the bannisters for each floor.

I had been up to each floor just to clean in the bathrooms. All that was on each landing was a toilet and about 3 offices. All of the offices were in darkness and locked, i didnt have to go in there.

I finished up on the 1st floor which was the last landing i had to do, then i came back down to the ground floor.Everything was fine, i just carried on regardless.

I got to the ground floor and i instinctively looked up to the 1st floor where i had been.

What i saw was a figure striding from the left of the balcony with its arms swinging towards the right. It was completely grey from head to toe, with no facial features.Like a sillouhette. It was quite slim and was about 6 feet tall.

As it reached the end of the landing it turned its head in my direction (i was only just below it) as if it acknowledged i was there, then it vanished very quickly.

I stood there totally frozen with fear, i have had many strange experiences but that one alone completely terrified me.

It wasnt that it was all grey that frightened me.I felt menaced by the fact that it seemed to be aware that i was there.

I have no idea how old the building was, but i wouldnt say it was any older than early 1900's if that.

This happened in 1994 and i have never ever forgotten it.

  7. There is a house that I work next to, that people say that is hunted. My niece used to live in that house and one time she stayed home from school (she was sick) while she was watching tv she heard footsteps coming up from the basement and finally trough the kitchen and stopped in the entrance of the dinning room and whatever it was it went back to the basement.

My sister also said that one time she was asleep in the middle of nite and no body else was in the house and she felt a peresence by the bed, she thought that it was one of her kids, and she remembred that she was alone in the house.

A co-worker said that he saw (when my sister and kids moved) a man figure in the living room one nite, he talked to the ghost and asked what he wanted. The figure disappeared. For that month that he lived there his dog wouldn't go into the old part of the house. My co-worker used to hear things banging in the basement. He moved out finally.

I myself haven't seen any encounters with ghost, and hopefully not. But I do believe that if the person died a horrible death or wasn't ready to go, the persons sould still lingers 'til someone helps them out. Some say that once your dead your gonezos. I kinda believe that too, so you can say that I'm an inbetweenie.

  8. I got a couple

I honestly believe there is something paranormal in my house... when ur alone you never feel alone I always have a feeling something else is there with me, when I get that way my parrot starts squacking, and my dog starts whimpering... its actually kinda scary, i cant be home alone at night.... I hav only heard what i thot was a voice once, but it coulda been my parrot, its creepy, i might just be paranoid tho lol

    also....

when I used to live in san francisco and across the street from me was this 2 story house plus an attic... I used to see the really really pale lady in a rocking chair everynight staring out like she was waiting for something.... i asked my mom why the lady that i keep seeing never comes out the house, she told me that nobody has lived in that house for years.... it coulda been some homeless lady rocking back and forth in the same spot day after day, or maybe it wasn't....

  9. We moved into a house 8 years ago. After having lived there for a month, we started to hear foot steps up and down our passage each night. It sounded really loud, because we have old oak wooden floors in our home. It went on for a few nights, and it was quite scary. About a week after that, while my mom was on her knees cleaning her bathroom floor, she saw two feet in front of her and thought it was my dad. When she looked up, she said all she saw was a very white face smiling at her. She wanted to scream and felt very scared, but instead, told him to leave her house.

It was quiet for a long while, but on New Years eve last year, we heard bagpipes playing, and it sounded very nearby. Right at the bottom of our garden, there was someone sitting under our large oak tree playing the pipes. My mom went out to see who it was, and when she got there, she said it turned to look at her, and disappeared. It was the same man who she had seen when we had moved in.

  10. the idea of "ghosts" is just our imagination..

  11. i have a lot of stories,

one night i was sleeping on my side and i felt someone grab my arm and pull me almost to my back.

a couple weeks ago i walk by my door and it opened like 4 inches before i touched it.

about every other week my dad hears really load thumps, and every time he thinks my fan or stereo fell, but they never do.

my brother in law was at his mom's house when he surned the stereo on. then he walked outside and the stereo's volume started going up, we think it's his sister that died 5 years before.

if any of that isn't creepy enough, just think how i feel.

i always think someone right behind me or leaning over my shoulder

    all the time

  12. you said i was a jerk for saying "no answer my question" to the lady, but why dont you see what she wrote for my question first?

    it was just payback

    =D

  13. About a year ago - I woke up in the middle of the night and seen a strange white figure bend down to a smaller white figure (like a dog). The dog-like shape vanished whilst the human shape remained for a few moments before disappearing. I instantly fell asleep again.

The house was rumoured to be a haunted farm house (no bad spirits) and my mum mentioned before this incident that she had seen a ghostly dog in the bathroom.

The strange thing is: I never screamed, which is what would probably have been my normal reaction against anything paranormal.

  14. my cousin and i were babysitting my little brother while my parents were out, it was late and we were upstairs and my brother was sleeping, the front and back door were locked and nobody else was in the house but the 3 of us.  while upstairs we heard someone slowly walking up the stairs so we locked my bedroom door and hid under the covers where we fell asleep.  nothing more ever happened though.
