A popular race but a tough one. Do you think it is too tough or is it simply par for the course as far as the horses go given that Mckelvey had a fatal fall today?

  1. I love it.  I'm £45 up today.

  2. Do you really think that these Horses that are forced to run in this barbaric race would actually jump over those killer fences if they were given the freedom to choose for themselves ???

Not only are they made to jump these way too high obstacle's but they must do so whilst having to carry a saddle and a Jockey sitting on top of them,It should be stopped at once,we are after all supposed to be a Nation of animal lovers are we not!

  3. Tough race.!!!

  4. FROM MY ARMCHAIR!

  5. I don't think horse racing as such is cruel, yes some horses do die (usually shot after breaking a leg), but racing is natural for them.  I'm more concerned with the treatment of horses (and other animals) being abused and those that are shipped across Europe in terrible conditions:

  6. Fatal?

    Is he ok? =S

More horses are killed on the roads than they are in this race...

  7. I think its brutal - but its an institution.

Those horses have a really good life, better than a lot of people and any deaths are accidents - its not as if they stick barbed wire on the jumps or anything.

  8. An interesting concept.  I watched the end and felt amused at the sight of the jockey waving his arms about in the air with excitement.  It wasn't his horse so he would get very little remuneration compared with the owner.  The owner was jubilant, even though he hadn't done a thing but would of course make money out of it.  The poor horse who had just been cruelly whipped to make it run faster, had a blanket put over it's sore flanks and was fussed by all and sundry.  Apparently another three horses died, one today and two yesterday.  What kind of a mad world do we live in|?

  9. Most horses are fatally injured when they fall anywhere so the Grand National is just another horse race. i picked Comply or Die and never put a bet on, ouch.

  10. it's hard enough having a race over 4miles long...the fences should be much, much lower & easier for the horses to cope with...they do their bit - we should help them!!

  11. nothing wrong with the race horses sometime die but they have had a gud life with the best of everything while they r alive

  12. I think its mean, horses can get really hurt and its abit pointless in my opinian.
