  1. This will be the third time the Olympics are held under the jurisdiction of 2 different National Olympic Committees(NOCs) ,Hong Kong and China.  The Olympic games were awarded to Beijing, People’s Republic of China after an exhaustive ballot of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on July 13, 2001. The official logo of the games, titled “Dancing Beijing,” features a stylized calligraphic character, meaning capital, referencing the host city. The mascots of Beijing 2008 are the five Fuwa, each representing one color of the Olympic rings. The Olympic slogan, One World, One Dream, calls upon the world to unite in the Olympic spirit. Athletes will compete in 302 events in 28 sports, just one event more than was on the schedule of the Athens games of 2004.

  2. Olympics is a symbol of harmony amongst nations. Frankly I am against it considering what they did to Tibet which is like next door...

  3. As is my usual I have no interest in the Olympics.  All sporting events are big business and as phoney as a three dollar bill.  Just another way to get money out of your wallet and into theirs.

  4. It will be a fantastic spectacle, but I don't think it should be in China. The government here does not deserve the right to host them due to various social restrictions and censorship.

  5. Wrong place at the wrong time.

  6. To be completely honest, I'm anti-athletic so it really doesn't even register on my richter.

  7. I think it sounds really cool that they are doing it in china.

  8. It will better than the previous Olympics

  9. th U.S. or our allies have no business particapating when the games are held in a country with an oppressive government.
