  1. I work in an Elementary school and we have parents who do not talk to their children.  There are no more Saturdays spent outside hanging with the neighborhood kids.  It's not safe anymore but the hardest thing is that our teachers don't teach to learn anymore they teach to meet the standards of some professor who probably never taught a day.  It seems we are trying to make English scholars out of third graders instead of teaching them how to spell and add.  Lets get back to some basics and quit using spell check....remember it's OK to be wrong!

  2. My vision of education is that we need more educators to fulfill roles as teachers.  Our country is in lack of faculty to teach people that need and want to learn.  I know in Japan, it's mandatory for children to complete college.  Maybe that's what the US needs to do.  I went to college right out of high school and dropped out to take care of my brothers, but now at the age of 31, I'm back in college and it's much harder being a mom and wife as a college student!  Education is the key to life!  Without a degree, most people will not get far in life!

  3. Education is so very important and is so many different levels. It is something that should be addressed at a very young age.  There are so many different ways of learning and understanding the children trying to learn.  They need to have smaller classes and more individual encounters. The children need to be heard.  The key is to stay open minded and at the same time balance consistency.  Stay out of the box.
