  3. We apply post codes and not zip codes and each town has there own which varies from street to street and even what side of the street you are sending it to.  If you think that is wacky then imagine how the post man/woman feels - good job it is all computerised isnt it.

  10. There is no general ZIP code for the UK, each town has it's own Which generally begins with the first letter or first two lwtters of the town/city. Also, in general the smaller the number the closer the address it to the city centre.

    Eg Sheffield could have S3 (approx 3 miles from the main town) or Manchester could have M13.

    London is divided into North, South East and West so would be N4, W5 etc.

    London also has postcodes for North West, South East etc (NW1, SE1)
