Question:

What issue do you want the president NOT to decide for you? Who has a higher pay grade, the president, or God?

I have to credit McCain. He knows the key issue to his base is elimination of abortion rights, so it is very smart to paint Obama as a radical baby-killer. But from his radio address today (transcript in the link), I was wondering if he knows that the president isn't God.

So here are my questions:

What issue do you want the president NOT to decide for you?

Who has the higher pay grade, the president, or God?

  1. I have to tell you something now:  I was 4 months pregnant when I was diagnosed with a fast growing and deadly cancer.  I had very limited choices.  It was either do nothing and die--the baby would die with me.  Or, it was surgery, chemo, and radiation.  The surgery could have been done without harming the baby--but the radiation and chemo would have killed the baby.  So I pretty much had only 2 choices:  try to carry to term without doing any of the treatment--but the docs explained me that this thing grew so fast that it was doubntful if I would make it.  There was no way that I would try to expose the unborn to chemo and radiation---we all know what radiation can do to the body, so imagine a still developing baby being exposed.  I ended up taking the doctor's offer to have a late abortion.  It's like my husband told me: once I finished the treatment and could be sure that the cancer was killed, we could try for another baby, but if I waited too long with the decision then there definitely wouldn't be a baby and not a mom---it was a heartbreaking decision, but I am still glad that I had the option to do so without being penalized by the law--I think anyone who wants to declare this kind of procedure, which is rarely used and only if it saves the mother's life-a crime.  How can anyone play God here?  McCain has voted against anything that only sounds pro-abortion.  Maybe that is his belief---but I think that a belief like this should not be imposed on those who suffer.  He wants to make an exception for women who got raped but I didn't see any exception for women who would lose their life otherwise.  That, to me, is playing God---

  2. I want the government to stay out of my life. There isn't anything that the government can do for me that I can't do for myself. This includes all the busy-bodies who want to tell me what I need to do. I am just in shock that I have lived this long without their help.

  3. I do not want the pres to decide my personal future

God doesn't need pay...H doesn't need material things

  4. I don't want the president deciding which medical procedures I can have, and which ones I can't -- this includes abortion.  If you don't like abortion; don't have one.

Brett "God" Favre makes more money than the president.

  5. this is why i dont vote republican.

    ever.

Sherman: What will you do to win the votes of the Americans who are atheists?

Bush: I guess I'm pretty weak in the atheist community. Faith in god is important to me.

Sherman: Surely you recognize the equal citizenship and patriotism of Americans who are atheists?

Bush: No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God.

  6. You can't buy GOD!
