what will happen to children here in ireland without their fathers.

Children born anywhere on the island of Ireland before 31 December 2004 are Irish citizens.

A person born in Ireland on or after 1 January 2005 is an Irish citizen only if at least one parent is one of the following:

1.  an Irish citizen (or someone entitled to be an Irish citizen),

2.  a British citizen,

3.  a resident of the island of Ireland who is entitled to reside in either the Republic or in Northern Ireland without any time limit on that residence, and/or

4.  a legal resident in Ireland for three out of the 4 years preceding the child's birth (However time spent as a student or as an asylum seeker does not count for this purpose).

If one of your parents is a citizen of Ireland, it doesn't matter where you are born, you are automatically an Irish citizen.

If one of your grandparents was a citizen of Ireland, you can apply for Irish citizenship.

the same thing that happens to children with irish fathers that dont want to know them. they will get on with it. why would anything happen to them?

Any child born in Ireland is entitled to an Irish passport, as they are Irish citizens.

However, if their parents are non-nationals, they are not entitled to an Irish passport or citizenship. Therefore (depending on the nationality of the parents) they may need to apply for a D-class Irish Visa which allows them to reside in Ireland.

If you on about the illegal immigrants that come into Ireland , then the children get deported with them weather thay were born in Ireland or not ( law was changed a few months back) because allot were just having kids so thay could stay , unless thay go throw the right channels and get the permission to stay , sad old world we live in really
