  1. If you just feel lightheaded, that could be low blood pressure or dehydration. But if your vision actually switches off—goes to black—SEE A DOCTOR RIGHT AWAY!

  2. Let's see.

Temporary loss of blindness can be as simple as positional change in blood circulation or as bad as neurological disease.

If you feel dizzy while suddenly getting up, its because you have low blood pressure temporarily. Sitting down immediately with eyes closed will cure it. This is a sign that the volume of fluids in your body is lower. However if it is always the case whenever you get up, its time to consult a doctor for SURE.

If the temporary blackout is like a curtain falling down instead of flash of blackness, it could be some neurological disorder. It may be "Amaurosis Fugax". It could be a sign of blood disorder, arterial block, eyeball problem etc. Mostly it is one sided loss in a fashion where a curtain falls over your eye.

But, I think in your case its a simple case of low blood pressure and/or healthy lifestyle and food problem. If the problem is during sitting, watching TV or driving, please contact a doctor. Eyesight is the most important of all the senses, my friend.

    Bye.

  3. Generally, this is called a vasovagal phenomenon, where blood rushes to the extremities, away from the head and can cause blur. Some people can pass out.  Lack of hydration and standing in one place too long can exaggerate this. Certain medications, notoriously high blood pressure medication and some pain medication, anti-depressants and muscle relaxants can also cause this to occurHowever, loss of vision can be very serious and you should make an appt with an ophthalmologist. Certain medical disorders and eye diseases can cause temporary loss of vision including rare strokes to the eye. Even occasional forms of migraine called ocular migraines can do this.

    Hope this helps

  4. It is called a head rush, it happens if you stand up too quickly.  There is a sudden rush of blood to your brain and then that happens.
