I don't know too much about Maine besides what is online. There is not a whole lot on Old Orchard Beach. Any information would be great. What should I wear? Good places to eat? I will also be looking for a job when I get there. Any places that will hire from out of state?

Is it completley deserted in the winter? Does it get really windy?

  1. blove, Dear I only know it from what I have read but I am so happy for you. You are  leaving an oven and going into a little bit of heaven. Yes at times the wind does blow and the traffic may slow. Not sure about a job but you can always work online or get a work from home job. Just type in legitimate data entry jobs or legitimate work from home jobs !

  2. Ah, it looks like you are lucky...because i live in maine and will be happy to let you know about anything you wish =)

October is a good time to come because it wont be very crowded

and the spectacular fall colors will be out.

Old orchard beach is a bit overdeveloped and crowded(esp in summer) so get used to busy crowds and slow traffic.

People are pretty normal here...casual, nice, friendly...don't wear anything too fancy or expensive or you will be looked at as a bit snobbish. Good places to eat are everywhere in the state. I'm not too acquanted with old orchard beach restaurants but i know there are a lot.

Aha, in winter it will not be as crowded, which is nice. expect freezing cold and snow, snow, snow! In winter it is windy sometimes.

Here are the main things Mainers do...

    -sail

    -fish

    -ski

    -snowboard

    -hang out

-spend as much time outdoors as possible

so have fun! Any questions you can email me...
