What it the difference between a Charter HS and a reg. HS?

Question

I currently have homeschool but I don't know if i should go back to regular school or go to a charter school? My teachers at homeschool tell me to go to a regular school because there are more oppurtunities like getting scholarships and stuff but, I really want to try out a Charter High School!

Any Opinions?

I don't know what state you are in but in my state I would recommend a public HS.  Here, charter schools get state money but they do not have to answer to the state like public schools do.  So, there are tons of charter schools doing p**s poor jobs of teaching but the parents don't know until too late because the state doesn't regulate them.  I teach fourth grade and I see plenty of kids transfer into my classroom from charter schools and they can't keep up because their charter school wasn't teaching them any of the standards the state had put forward.  I would definitely recommend a public school.
