Putting back the hedges and trees and digging out ditches  that a tw-t of a government gave farmers a grant for..  to rip them out to acquire more land space for more crops..now they are giving them grants to put them back..... what pathetic ars-eh-les, and to top it all it came from the tax payer me and you ...luckily i live in a part of norfolk where,,,,,,, most,,,,,,farmers respect the countryside they manage and now realise the error of there ways

Likely it means farming where there are significant slopes to the lay of the land.  Following the contours of the land rather than plowing, etc. downhill can avoid soil erosion.
