  1. A water bowl is necessary, for a baby a 20 gal tank (don't use a 10 gallon too small for appropiate heat gradients) if ok but you will need to upgrade to at least a 40 gal breeder when adult. Substrate-sand is good when adult, for baby repti carpet seems to be the choice of most people on here. I am including two very good website that you can find all the info you want.

    beardeddragons.org

    bearded-dragons.com

  2. If it's a baby a 20 gallon tank. If it's an adult 50 gallons and up. It'll need a heat sorce, (A light) Calcium supplements, a basking rock (Or branch...

I'd reccomend doing some reasearch on google before getting it. :) If you have any quesitons, Or if you'd like me to give you more info, Email me here Or at Dreadhead309@gmail.com

  3. Bearded dragons are not exactly the lowest maintenance pet out there.  *Please* read the caresheet at http://www.beardeddragon.org/articles/ca...

After that, make sure to browse their forums!  There is a massive amount of great information, and very friendly people.

At the minimum though, you'll need a UV bulb (such as a Reptison), and temps in the high 80's with a basking temp up to 105.  Bearded dragons eat both greens and insects.  Do *not* feed them lettuce as it has virtually no nutritional value.  Feed greens such as Collard, Mustard, or Dandelion.  For insects crickets are the most common, though silkworms and phoenix worms are better nutritionally.  Do not feed mealworms as their hard outer shell can cause impaction.  Superworms are only safe for adult beardies.

You don't need the waterbowl as a properly feed beardie will get all the moisture they need from the greens.  Additionally, since they are low humidity animals, it's best not to have a water source in the cage.

Be prepared to get a new cage fairly soon.  They grow rather quickly at first.  If you can afford the upfront expense, a 55 gallon tank would be best.  Since it's big enough for an adult beardie, you won't have to buy two or three smaller cages as he grows.

You've got a lot of time before you get him.  Spend this time reading various caresheets and forums.  They're not really complicated pets, but there is a *lot* to learn if you want to take the best care of them.

Enjoy your new pet, and feel free to email me with any questions!
