I have a string of pearls my ex-husband bought me as a Christmas gift years ago. I wore them a few times, but you know, thinking about it, aren't they just lovely around a ladies neck? What other items do you find very attractive on a woman. Please answer appropriately without being off color if you would please-thank you. I hope to have answers from both men and women. Next time out, I'm going to wear my pearls, well aside from going to the grocery store! ha :)

  1. I think all kinds of jewelry - bracelets, rings, necklaces....  I think it makes anything you are wearing look more put together and feminine. Anything you wear that makes you feel good about yourself.

  2. For lovely and feminine, I'd have to say skirts with crinolines underneath, and a sweater with those pearls.. . but boy, did those crinolines itch ! !

  3. These days, something appropriate for her age & weight. We used to go bowling with this woman who was at least a hundred pounds overweight & she wore tights under a shirt. I don't know why her husband wasn't embarrassed.

  4. I'm going to say perfume and makeup.

It's good to be a girl!

    I'd love pearls.

  5. I miss gloves..my mother and grandmother had bags and gloves to match every outfit..i still like cameos i think all women should have at least one.  And an occasional well placed bow still has it's appeal.

  6. Stockings with seams up the back!

  7. You know, I agree that those dates were really ~eye appealing~This is really something that you ask this because only yesterday, my brother and were talking about how a lot of peeps dress in t-shirts and blue jeans. (my attire) ;~)

~I always thought high heels made your legs look feminine and fantastic. @--{---

~Also, putting your hair up with tendrils and curls hanging down.@--{---

    ~Gloves, too. @--{--

~In the 70's, we used to wear hose even with shorts to give our legs a smooth, tan look. I have two pics of me wearing hose with shorts. That's how I met my ex husband. ;~D

Jewelry on wrists, whether it's bracelets or watches. I don't know, but to me, a lady's wrist looks feminine. @--{---

"This is a fun question. Thank you for asking.

    love ya

  8. Nicely ( natural ) manicured nails, a little make-up, some subtle perfume, and a bit of jewelry. My mom is 68 and always dresses nice every day with hair and make-up done. She taught me to always take pride in your look regardless of how much or  how little you have....take care of yourself & be feminine - not harsh looking. She says you'll feel better about yourself & your husband will appreciate it too :)

I know not everyone will agree with this, but it works for us :)

  9. One of my elderly lady friend used to call me "lawdy daa" because I wore big jewelry...diamonds or turquoise...make-up, boots with my jeans tucked in and a floppy hat or ball-cap with my long hair pulled through the back!!!  I love to dress to the nine's!!!  But, at home it's a one!!!  LOL!!!

  10. What a wonderful question. I remember wearing white gloves to church or a wedding. It felt so much like a woman pulling on those gloves and checking the seam in the back of your stockings to see they were straight.  In the 50's we wore hats of course, that looked great with our dresses. And our 'heels'. We also wore slips under our dresses. My daughter who is 33 loves to wear feminine clothes. She would fit right in if we still dressed like that today. Her Daughter who is 14 would hate it. She is into jeans that are so tight I fear they will split if she moves fast. Here is a star.     Poppy

  11. some gilrs look good in dresses

  12. Scarves. I love to see pictures from the 50's and 60's with women wearing scarves wrapped around their hair - it looks so chic. Luckily they are back in style!

I wish gloves would make a comeback. They look so elegant.

  13. Dresses,panty-hose,and pumps. Bare legs and sandals make women look (and act) like hookers!

  14. lace, perfume, clean, shiny hair, a smile

  15. I think that summer dresses look pretty in the summer, as well as wispy "I did this in less than a minute" ponytail. Anything lacy, and caplet sleeves always make me look dainty and pretty! So I think any woman can have the same effect,:)

  16. Nice hair & nails.

    And dresses.

  17. Anklets, boots, earrings, fingernail polish and a sweet smile. Without the latter, nothing is beautiful.

  18. A lady should carry a delicate perfume scented handkerchief.  If she sees a gentleman who looks interesting, the old drop the hanky bit should work.  I never tried this, but it seemed to work for actresses in the old movies.

(I still have the beautifully embroidered  handkerchief a friend gave me when my husband and I got married.)

  19. June Cleaver of Leave It To Beaver is my idol and roll model.  She even did the housework in pearls.  I have a few lacy aprons, and I love wearing them.

  20. your question reminds me of a lady i had working for me on a construction site -- nancy and she was a procurment agent -- we require that even the ladies wear steel toe boots and hard hats when outside of the trailers == all wore jeans but nancy always managed to wear a blouse or shirt with some type of fancy lace -- not much but just enough to let every one know she was a lady!!!

  21. garters, lace, haltertops, cut off t-shirts....and basically, most of your victoria's secret catalogue stuff.

  22. I was going to say Pearls.  So delicate and soft.

  23. Big bow in the hair

  24. In this day and age it's really very hard for a woman to really look like a lady.  I agree with you that back "when" they looked like ladies and were very proud of it.  The hats, white gloves, and nice jewelry  And the "pumps" were very attractive and not like the spikes now .Also, they were a lot more comfortable.  But those days are sure long gone to never return.  Too bad.

  25. I love to see a woman in a dress.  Nothing makes a woman more feminine and beautiful.

  26. Well, it really depends on the situation.  My hubby has always said that he likes me in my gardening clothes.  I guess it's because we spend so much time in the yard.  I guess if I were to select one item, it would be a certain perfume he bought me several years ago.  A woman always looks good in a fine perfume.

  27. Skirts look good and are feminine on a lady. Nobody seems to wear them anymore though which is a shame.

  28. Now that bare legs are in, I miss stockings!!

The seamed ones are sooo s**y!

  29. A few things that I think of as feminine that might also be somewhat racy: slips, garters, and fishnet stockings. Pearls are quite feminine too, I agree. Kimonos are very nice on a lady. Earrings as well. That's about all I can think of at the moment. Great question!

  30. I really like this question.  I like looking feminine, and wear dresses or skirts more than pants.  I wear nail polish, jewelry, and perfume.  I do not have a man's haircut, and I take time to fix my hair every morning.  I always wear lipstick, and usually mascara.  Heels are feminine to me, even if they are only kitten heels.  I think attitude is just as important as anything we can put on when it comes to being a lady.  If you act like a lady, you will be treated as one.

  31. I am kind of a tomboy myself... I do like nice smelling lotion and toenail polish... simple earrings
