What job can I get w/ a masters in education b/c there r no teaching jobs in buffalo! Help!!?

I cant relocate bc I have a baby and ny law prohibits relocation if your ex wants visitation!! Please keep ideas coming and thanx!!

Have you applied at the private schools in the area? Because Buffalo has a shrinking population and is likely to not need any public school educators for a very long time. Either look for work in another field, train for a job in another field where there is work in the area or figure out some way to relocate.

I had custody of my daughter after the divorce in British Columbia and I was still able to move to California with my daughter. I got her to accept it by offering to let her off the hook for child support payments.

In your case, tell the judge that you will be unable to properly support the child unless you are allowed to relocate.

I feel your pain. I recently gave up on the teaching job search because there are no jobs here, unless you have a relative in a school. Who you know, not what you know.

You can check into educational publishing companies or larger companies. Bigger places will have training departments, so maybe you could be a corporate trainer. The problem with that would be that sometimes you may have to travel, so I don't know if you are able to do that with your baby. Check the websites of the companies near you and see what jobs they have open.

Another idea is running a daycare center/preschool. You can also work for a tutoring center, maybe as a director or assistant director. My friend has a teaching degree and did that for about a year. Unfortunately, the pay is not as much as in a public school.

I wish you luck. I am moving on to a totally new career because the politics here are ridiculous-I cannot compete with that. So much for a teaching shortage-biggest myth going on now.
