  1. Jobs are:

        * Top- and mid-level managers, executives, administrators

        * Sales occupations, including retail

        * Social workers

        * Other management-related occupations

        * Personnel, training, labor-relations specialists

        * Other administrative (record clerks, telephone operators)

        * Insurance, securities, real estate, business services

        * Other marketing and sales occupations

        * Registered nurses, pharmacists, therapists, physician assistants

        * Accountants, auditors, other financial specialists

    Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) vs. Bachelor of Science (B.S.)

    The main differences between the B.A. and the B.S. degree in Psychology are the science and math courses in the CLAS General Education Requirements and the laboratory psychology courses. For both the B.A. and B.S. degrees, students are required to take statatistics, one laboratory science (General Biology is recommended), and one non-lab science (Psyc 132, General Psychology I). However, the B.S. degree requires an additional two course sequence in chemistry, a two course sequence in mathematics (i.e., calculus), and a two course physics sequence. Also, the B.S. degree requires two psychology laboratory courses. All other courses and requirements for the Psychology degrees are the same.

    Students with a strong aptitude for math and science and with future goals such as medical school, neuroscience, and cognitive science, should consider the B.S. in Psychology degree.
