  1. Crime scene investigator.  And I don't think you have to be a doctor to be one but it may help.

It depends where you live as it is sometimes referred to differently.  In some states, the position is referred to as "Coroner".  In others it is "Medical Examiner" or "Forensic Pathologist".  Just some trivial information for you: a coroner, at least in the midwestern US, is often an elected position in a county.

  3. Medical Examiner...usu employed by the county you work in or possibly depending on the population density you may be the ME for multiple counties...I work in Harris County in Houston TX...so there are multiple ME's for my county..
