I know it sounds crazy but seriously. I'm 14 and I have no clue what I want to do when I grow up!!!

I like to do a lot of stuff. I love to ride and be around horses and I also love DOGS!!! I was thinking about a vet but I don't think I can stand all the blood and stuff, I was also thinking about a nurse or doctor.

At one point I wanted to be a Lawyer and then a architect. I love to design houses but only sometimes. And then I also like to do photography. I love to make videos and edit and stuff so maybe I could be a movie editor where you work on clips and stuff!

I also love to sing and act but I'm not sure if I have the voice or skills to do that. Although I LOVE to do that. lol

I was even thinking about being in the Olympics in swimming or Gymnastics!!!

I really don't know and I just need something to help me!!!

I mean I'm gonna start High school next year and that's when you need to start planning and stuff so yea. Thxs!

  1. To make a decision about your future you need more experience first.

At 14, your options are limited.

Most businesses want you to be at least 16.

    Time to be inventive:

    My suggestions to you:

Make up flyers and pass them around in your neighborhood.

Offer to do whatever work it is you want to do, such as :

Work with Horses, Pass out Flyers, Computer work, Babysit, Clean Garages, Organize Cupboards, File Papers, Wash Cars, Mow Lawns, Pull Weeds, Tutor the neighbors kids, Walk/wash Dogs, Dog sit, Clean the Pool, Assist the elderly, whatever...

Post first whatever it is you want to do or are good at ...

You should keep your options open and make a decision after the persons call you instead of not giving them many reasons to call.

Say on the flyer you are a student and are available on Saturdays

  2. You have plenty of time...

I have finished college and I'm still deciding what I am striving to be.

  3. Keep exploring and keep your options open.

Not everyone knows what they want to be when they grow up, including adults who are already grown up.  My own daughter is entering college this year and still doesn't know what she wants to do.

Your best approach with high school is to do well in school, take as many classes as you can to get a variety of knowledge, and get involved in after school activities, especially community service.  The better you do in school and the more involved you are in life, the more opportunities you will have when you get to the point of deciding which college to go to.

Keep all doors open - stay out of trouble - and you can do or be anything you want when the time is right.
