I'm really drawn to helping people.

Especially people with a lot of problems (like...crazy people...) but more specifically people my age.

I am 17 and when I hear about other high school students who threaten to set a bomb off, and other stuff like that I just feel like I really want to talk to that person, figure out what's going on in their head and then try to help.

Maybe I'm crazy for wanting to do this, I don't know....but anyways...what job would be good for me??

Thank you!

  1. You probably would be good at volunteering at a teen hot line. They will train you and mo niter your calls until your comfortable. This will probably be a volunteer job but, what the hey experience always looks good on a resume and helping people is a noble cause. Other places- food pantry, soup kitchen, helping the homeless, working with the elderly.  Go to you school counselor and she should be able to at least point you in the right direction. Good Job.

  2. peer counselor.an excellent way to help people. ask your principal if your school would provide training for you.you do need to be trained .you could work a hot line for high scool kids with any thing thats troubling them.

  3. this usually breaks into 2 separate fields.

Research on violence in Teenagers ( Psychology or Psychiatry)

Helping them is more complex.  It could be therapy, running a half-way house, other options.
