What jobs are not 9am to 5pm, five days a week?

I want to get out of the routine. What jobs go beyond or outside the 9to5, five days a week??

  1. Almost any job where you are self-employed can be structured without a routine. So depending on what skills you have you should look to become self-employed so you can write your own ticket and work the hours you are comfortable with.


  2. Operators for chemical plants usually don't work 9-5. They go 12 hours for 4 days, like 5-5. then get off for a while then they'll go nights 5pm-5am. then they'll do weekends. I believe you have to have a couple years training though.

  3. There are plenty of jobs that don't have typical 9 to 5 hours.  Just look for any job that has flexible hours and there you go.  

  4. If you live in the UK any supermarket will give you employment. with hours that you require as they are now mostly open 24 hours and need staff prepared to work those odd hours. Failing that the transport industry need odd hours staff also. Other places try your local job centre they will help.
