  1. Quebec's economy is doing relatively well and prospects in scientific sectors (research and development, avionics, pharmaceutical, engineering, etc.) are very good.

However, one essential fact about finding a job in Quebec: you must speak French fluently if you want to get a good job, otherwise your your alternative will be low paying jobs in the manufacturing or service sectors (usually minimum wage), even if you are highly trained.

  2. That's not entirely true about the having to be fluent in French. If you move to Montreal, there are more Anglos there than elsewhere in Quebec. I speak French to a conversational level, but I work entirely in English.

You'll have no problem finding a job as an English-speaker in the realms of IT, as long as you are a professional. Most likely in the Montreal downtown or West Island.

Although most employers want a good grasp of French, just look for the industries that are DESPERATE for people. I suggest getting your CV/resume on www.monster.ca.

One more thing, part of the consideration process in obtaining a Canadian work visa is that you speak either English or French and are completely fluent. The jobs that you apply for must be in demand and will require a Labour Market Assessment to ascertain that. This can take a considerable amount of time.

  3. In allmost every sectors except some sectors in "crisis" like automobile manufacturers and all forest products. However, "full employment" doesn't mean "good jobs and good salary".

  4. mmmmm

No, I think you should learn French in you wanna work in Québec..

    We need doctors !
