What jobs are out there where you can make your own hours?

Any job out there, whether or not I worked for a company or by myself: that would allow my to make my own schedule. Example: A real estate agent

A real estate agent does not make their own hours--they are at the mercy of clients!  With today's gas prices, really think about anything that requires you to drive if you don't get reimbursed.  Direct sales are the major form of set your own hours types of jobs.  Some admin assistants are starting their own virtual companies, and you can get clients from anywhere.  You have some set hours but can work anytime you want.

Real estate agent is a good start, but there are also certain types of medical billing or clerical jobs that you can work from your own hours.  Aside from getting involved in a business of your own, making your own hours is hard to come by.  Sometimes I come across a company or two looking for someone who can do administrative work, but those jobs get eaten up pretty fast since they are so highly desirable.
