I volunteer monthly at a club for the physically disabled elderly, and would love to be able to use this in a career when I graduate. But I'm studying for a language and literature based degree, and have no idea how any of this could relate to a career in the long term...

  1. Look into Therapeutic Recreation as a career.  You may not have to switch your major.

  2. Old folks home, insurance company, hospital,

  3. You could work in a nursing home. Maybe a activity director? Speech therapist. may have to switch your major for this. Senior center director?

  4. there are carer jobs where you look after the elderly in nursing homes ....which you dont always need any formal qualifications as they train you up on the job and you end up with a qualification or there are other carer jobs where you look after elderly people in there own homes you will have a set amount of elderly peoples homes you will have to visit everyday and will have to help them out e.g reading mail to them shopping walking there dog helping them shower and get dressed helping prepare there meals etc etc ........it can be a very rewarding job and something i am also very interested in doing. good luck
